We had a service contract for about 8 years with this company for our printers. Turns out the large Canon we were using was having issues, it was a used unit from 2013 and parts were no longer available. We get a quote for other units, shop around with other vendors and ended up picking a Toshiba we liked, better quality, lower cost to run. It was a pretty easy decision. Well, now I had to let the old vendor know we are dropping them. This ensued with a phone call from a noticeably annoyed rep that why would we drop 20 years of business, asking the reasoning and once providing our reasons, gi ..read more

Our environment is incredibly rough and we have awful sticky dust that builds up inside any tiny crevice. Previous IT always just shoved small form factor dell desktops in there but have typically only lasted 2 years as a result.
I can’t seem to come across a standard rugged computer that anyone uses, the only ones that are fully specced, rugged and fanless are a lot more expensive. Which is fine but legitimate reviews are hard to come by before taking the plunge.
Has anyone got any models they can recommend for this?

What are you guys paying for DocuSign? We're told that pricing is moving (required) from per envelope to per user and our per user cost is now about $480/year for each of our 25 users.
Support is also required at an additional 15% (so an additional $72 per user).
Basically, our 2023 to 2024 pricing jumped about 75%.

Good afternoon folks.
I work for a research/manufacturing company and I am getting assigned a project where I am expected to come up with a WORM folder solution. Write Once, Read Many allows people to view a file created, but does not allow that file to he deleted or modified in anyway, not even by the original creator.
I know there are some media options. Such as using CD-R or DVD-R. Likewise there are some products like NAS that have WORM functionality, but is there any solution built into Windows to apply this feature to a Network folder or drive? Preferably one that can be overwritten by ..read more

Hello!
As the title says, I am looking for some advice on finding a simple, easy-to-use MDM solution for a small fleet of Windows computers. 99% of my company utilizes Apple with Jamf, which I am an expert in, and have spent the better part of 20 years working with, but I am struggling with managing about 8 Windows computers for our finance department.
We have an InTune instance and I have tried looking at tutorials online but it remains clear as mud and I cannot seem to make sense of how it even works. I'm not all to confident that the instance was even set up properly by a former engineer ..read more

User calls and says they don't have any printers anymore. Connect to their computer, go to Control Panel, try to re-add the printer, doesn't work. Try a few things, offer to connect again when they're at lunch so I'm not taking up too much of their time.
Then a different customer has a fire, i miss our call, call back afternoon to reschedule.
User tells me the problem is fixed. They called us when I didn't call them, talked to a coworker, he didn't realize there was already a ticket, so he just fixed it. No muss, no fuss.
I ask him what he did, he tells me he went through Settings.
Wut?

More here: https://twitter.com/WindowsLatest/status/1780645859862155310 but basically, an Edge update added the app to all editions of Windows, including Server 2022.

Hi all,
Apologies if this is the wrong place, but I've been trying to figure out how to control access to a small server room (closet, really). There's not a dedicated cooling system so what I was thinking was a steel mesh door, like you'd get on a cage. Does anyone have alternate solutions, and/or suggestions where to source this type of thing?
Thanks!

Helping user get through first-time Windows setup so I can remote in and get it set up
Me: "Do you see the sign in options button?"
User: "Well it's asking for an email address"
Me: "Yep that's expected, do you see the sign-in options button?"
User: "It's asking me for an email address"
Me: "i understand [User], there should also be a button for 'Sign-in Options', do you see that?"
User: "I just see the email address field, and I don't know what- oh wait you mean sign-in options?"
Definitely feels like a Wednesday.

Hi everyone,
I am a solo IT guy at a business with around 150 employees. We are not an IT company but we do have smaller hosted services/servers for some customers. We have around 100 endpoints ourselves, and are running a AD/Entra hybrid environment.
We currently use Watchguard firewalls, I have been working with them for many years, my last job was a reseller/partner. I really like their products, they are very stable and I am very familiar with config etc. But recently our UTM subcscription expired and my company has no interest in investing that kind of money right now, so I have been cons ..read more
