I saw someone else post something like this but I feel like we might have different situations so I thought I’d make my own post.
I’m deathly afraid of tornados, I’m so scared of dying by a tornado or losing my house and my dogs. I live in Missouri so they are not uncommon but we definitely get a lot of watchs. The funny thing is I can watch videos of tornados, I can look at pictures of them and I really don’t care about them until…they show up in my area. Decided to pull out my phone to try and capture some of the beautiful storms that were rolling through this evening. Eventually caught this in slow motion, took a lot of patience!

I need help soothing my anxiety over tornadoes. Saturday is supposed to be bad where I live, and I'm honestly freaking out over it. I know the chances of a tornado hitting and killing me, or my house specifically, is very low, but it's the tension of all of it that messes with me. I'd appreciate any help for this, whether it's advice or some facts or statistics to make it seem less scary.

We live in a 1920s bungalow in KCMO, and we’re due for bad weather. Where should my family go to shelter in place? Our bathroom is on the first level of the house and has a window. Our basement is also connected to our garage, which the basement part of our house is made of solid rock/concrete.

I live in lower southeast Missouri (specifically between Springfield and St. Louis) and there are supposed to be two severe thunderstorms late Thursday to Friday and Sunday. Is there a way to keep me from panicking too much when these hit?
For clarification, I live in a rectangular house with my family. There is no basement but there is a garage, five closets (one in my room that's not an interior closet, one in my brother's room with no doors, one in my mom's room also not an interior closet, one on the other s ..read more
