When my son was young, I joined a buying group that bought from a health food wholesaler. It was an important group since my son was diagnosed as celiac at a time when gluten-free products were scarce and VERY expensive. The group disbanded years ago. When I see bulk products on sale (currently 55 pounds Jasmine rice on sale for $29.99 and 40 pounds of fresh jalapeno peppers for $19.99) I wish I had someone to split the cost and food with. Walmart has a 10 lb bag of krusteaz complete pancake mix for $10. Do you know how many pancakes that is? You have no idea how creative you can get with pancakes until you need to! Chicken leg quarters at under 80 center a lb in 10 lb bags, I bake them, shred off the meat and freeze in 1 lb portions to add to soups, casseroles, and stir fry.
