Someday we may get back to regular posting, but for now, sporadic is better than nothing. There’s something special about a scene that comes together and puts out a full length video. Bitch Cranks Anonymous was the culmination of the Buffalo BMX scene working on just that. And now, they are releasing their second full length that transcends the local scene and includes a lot of travel and friends along the way. The video premiere’s at Breaking Free Skatepark in Rochester, NY on Saturday January 27, 2024 at 10:00 PM EST.
I virtually sat on Matt O’Connell’s couch with Matt, Kevin Czuba, and Louis Kaminski to discuss the making of Bitch Crank Anonymous 2 and some of the challenges dur ..read more

I sat down with Jeff in March of 2023 to record this podcast on a whim after a cancelled flight and a drive to a different airport. I had a lot of travel going on at the time and by the time I got around to editing the last episode, Jeff had hit me up about not posting the episode due to a significant life change since we recorded it. This past weekend I finally got to sit back down with Jeff and wrap-up the discussion with what transpired after our initial recording and then to add even more manufacturing discussion into the mix. This might be the longest episode we’ve posted, but if you have ..read more

John and I sat down 5 months ago to record this podcast episode in an effort to maintain consistent podcast uploads and get back on track with regular episodes – we all see how that worked out. I have another episode (maybe 2?) on deck, but making no promises as to when you’ll get to hear those. For now, give this a listen/watch.

The Styles for Myles Jam happened on October 8, 2022. The backstory to the jam is mostly told in the first podcast episode found here. Jordan and Kate wanted to do a follow-up after the jam was finished, but it took some time and coordinating before we could lock in a time. Fast-forward to the end of November and we finally sat down to record the wrap-up. For a handful of reasons, mostly discussed in the post for the last episode, this is just finally making its way online.

Sometimes things just don’t go as planned or work out first try. Motivation aside, I’ve been away from home on-and-off for the last month or so, and working extra while I’m around – All while trying to close on a house that has some legal hurtles in the way at the moment.
I was motivated in November to get a few episodes under my belt to get through the holidays, which I knew were going to be busy with work, travel, and (hopefully) closing on a house. I wish I was able to say that happened, but at this point, I don’t know when or if it is going to happen. What I wasn’t counting on was not bein ..read more

How do you define success? A lot of people consider the attainment of wealth, favor, or eminence the default definition. But what if there are other goals and motivations? How do we define and measure success in other ways?
The working title of this episode is “Skateparks Are Like Gaybars” based on an observation noticed during preparing and recording. In it, we dive into this subject and I discuss learning tricks, school, athletics, work, starting a business, social media, and hobbies. Then we tackle a section at the end that is essentially the Lowdown, Part 3.

Myles “Bubba” Roach, 11 years old, was killed on 10/30/2021 at the hands of a school bully. Since this horrific event, his parents, Jordan and Katelyn Roach, have been working on a jam in his memory and working on setting up a non-profit to “put all brakes on bullying”.
This episode is a small glimpse into what happened, how the family is coping with the loss, and how they are using it as motivation to help curb bullying for others and promote BMX and other action sports as a means of averting bullying within their community. They’ve still got a long ways to go in the fight for justice, gettin ..read more
