Toby Henderson has been splitting time between top-dog duties at Box Components, and a many-hats role at the American BMX Company, which revived and reimagined the Race inc. line of products. Since he joined the newly-restarted brand, a little over two years ago (see bmxnews September 8, 2021), the brand released some impressive product, and made the pretty-promises of the mockups and prototypes come true. Mike Redman was a BMXer who was all-the-way-in on every aspect of BMX Racing, since the early 80s. He was a racer, a BMX start-up entrepreneur, at a young age, (with MRC, Mike Redman Concepts), a wildly-successful racing team leader, Bike Brand visionary (via Redman Bikes), Race Announcer at hundreds of national races (and thousands more on the sub-national-level), Track Operator at Grand Prix BMX in Lake Perris, CA, coach to thousands of local-level BMXers, who participated in his clinics, all-of-which made him a BMX industry Legend. It’s just-past September 1, which marks the official start of “when is next year’s national schedule coming out” season. Well, USA BMX is on-it-like-Blue-Bonnet for the 2023 rundown, having released the first-half (or so) of the 2023 National Schedule. WOW! 148 Motos for Indiana Gold Cup

It was an incredible weekend of racing in Indiana, as Steel Wheels Indoor BMX hosted a big weekend of racing, with a Race for Life on Saturday, and what is said to be the largest Gold Cup Qualifier in series history (at 148 motos) on Sunday. We spotted no-fewer than 10 state plates in the parking lot, and lots of grey plates on the track, as the whole of the region descended on Hobart, Indiana for the race., News was there, at our local track, for all the Gold Cup Action on Sunday, and came back with an epic photo set from the day. Time2Shine National Bike Shop Team is looking to be a steady presence on the podium in 2022. At the 2022 Blue Ridge Nationals in Lexington, VA, 11 of 21 riders earned podium spots, highlighted by Valentino Vallejo, who swept all three days in 14X, along with wins in 13-14 Open on Friday and Saturday. Federico Cappello 16X (World 6) came away scored two wins and a second in class after a hard crash in the cruiser semi on Friday.
