A new initiative has recently begun on the Eastside Trail of the Atlanta BeltLine, aiming to maintain its beauty and cleanliness for all to enjoy. In cooperation with the City of Atlanta Parks Department, Atlanta BeltLine is partnering with Executive Realty Solutions, Inc. (ERS) to conduct supplemental trash pickup on weekend evenings. The enhanced service is made possible by a millage rate increase for park improvements passed by the City in 2023.

2023 was a remarkable year for the Atlanta BeltLine project. Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. hosted a record three groundbreakings on the Southside, Westside, and Northeast Trails and celebrated the ribbon-cutting of Northeast Trail-Segment 2. We again exceeded our annual housing goal for the year, increased our land holdings as part of our long-term affordability strategy, launched the BeltLine Business Solutions Office, and so much more.

Renowned for its colorful street art, murals, tags, and stickers, Krog Street Tunnel is legendary as a hub for visual artistic expression in Atlanta. For one afternoon, however, it took on a special new role. It became a gritty, yet vibrant backdrop, and its unique acoustics served as an accompanying instrument for a spectacular acapella musical showcase by the Spelman College Glee Club.

A new pilot is underway on the Atlanta BeltLine to help keep one Atlanta’s most beloved public spaces beautiful. In an effort to support the City of Atlanta Parks crew dedicated to maintaining BeltLine trails and parks, Atlanta BeltLine has hired Sun Brite Services, Inc. to remove graffiti on all completed, paved BeltLine trails. From February 28-March 1, the team completed a thorough cleaning of light poles, guard rails, retention walls, etc. on the Eastside and Westside Trails.

On February 27th, the Atlanta BeltLine and the City of Atlanta celebrated the grand opening and ribbon cutting of the newly built Stanton Park Apartments, a significant milestone in affordable housing. This development will bring 56 new affordable housing units to Atlanta’s Peoplestown neighborhood, situated at 1056 Hank Aaron Drive on the Southside BeltLine Trail.
