Florida State takes on GT for the fourth consecutive time in the first game of the ACC tournament. Florida State and Georgia Tech are taking after the seven-game series happening in the NHL and NBA right now as they will play their fourth game in a row against each other. FSU took two out of three against the Yellow Jackets last weekend as their offense exploded, and Jamie Arnold and Carson Dorsey recorded timely outs. If there was any doubt, the ACC named James Tibbs ACC Player of the Year when it announced its end-of-season awards Monday afternoon. Isa Torres provides final blow to secure the 10-4 win for the Seminoles After defeating UCF to secure a spot in the regional final, Florida State softball was the designated visiting team against Auburn, and their pitcher, Shelby Lowe. Lowe only gave up a walk to Jaysoni Beachum, but got out of the inning without a run. On the opposite side, Ashtyn Danley shut down the Tigers in just six pitches. Seminoles have big second inning to secure regional final appearance On Friday, Florida State softball took a nail biter from Chattanooga in the opening round of the Tallahassee Regional. Now, they turn to UCF in the winners bracket game, following the Knights 11-6 win over Auburn. Seminoles mount comeback versus the Mocs Florida State softball squared off against the Chattanooga Mocs in the first round of the Tallahassee regional. It was Allison Royalty getting the start for the FSU, against Peja Goold for UTC. Royalty had a pair of walks for her inaugural inning, but was able to keep the Mocs from scoring. Similarly, Goold did the same in the bottom of the inning, just allowing a walk. Both Royalty and Goold kept it scoreless for their teams heading into the 4th inning. Seminoles forced to cut scholarships, pay fine Florida State is petitioning the NCAA to rescind penalties levied against the university due to NIL (Name, Image and Likeness) penalties, a report from Yahoo! Sports revealed on Friday.
