On Sunday 18th November the Under 14 Netball Team went to Colchester to compete in the East Essex Tournament (first round of the National Cup). The girls had the opportunity to play some of the best schools in the County and all 9 girls played fantasticaly making Passmores extremely proud. The tournament was an extremely high standard with being the 14 best teams in the County and the girls finished 4th in the group stages. Passmores Academy have retained their title as District Cross Country Champions for the SECOND year running. We took over 60 young athletes to Burnt Mill to represent Passmores in the District Cross Country. Every student showed gut and determination and made Passmores proud. Overall scores, Passmores won by 91 points with St. Johns and St. Nicks in 2nd and 3rd.

The year 8 girls netball team played fantastically beating Stewards 34-3. Joyce Luitzu got Stewards Player of the Match with her excellent defending and Sian Kearney got Teachers Player of the Match, without missing a single shot. Passmores U16 Table Tennis team came first at the Essex Schools qualifiers on 16/11. They beat Gable Hall school in a tight and competitive battle winning by only one game. Players were: Diesel Harvey, Rowan Dawling, Harrison Taylor and Ben Sivathanu. Passmores Sports Reps also attended this event by officiating the games. They all did a fantastic job, especially has most of them had not done this before. Over the weekend the under 14 boys Fustal team become East Reginal Champions which means they are through to the National Finals in Birmingham in a few weeks time!!

Do you feel like it took a lot of team work?
Yes, because we were the only school there so we had to work together to beat anal futsal teams.
Did it take a lot of training to get that far?
Yes, we trained every Tuesday and Thursday.

Year 7 girls rounders house events on the 04/05/17, all four houses took part in this event (Dragon, Unicorn, Lion and Griffin) all matches were played and the results were very close with lion and Griffen joint last and unicorn and dragon joint first which meant it was down to the amount of rounders that were scored. In 4th place was lion in 3rd griffin and unicorn in 2nd meaning dragon won with 11 1/2 rounders. Well done to all the girls that took part ..read more

Pupils of Passmores Academy had a once in a lifetime opportunity to be coached by England head coach Eddie Jones at the home of English rugby Twickenham stadium. The pupils were full of energy and enthusiasm during the coaching session and Eddie was impressed. He said “the energy was awesome and the girls showed the boys how it’s done”. The pupils got shirts, balls and anything else they could signed by Eddie. The pupils were very aware of Eddie’s recent success on the international stage and were clearly inspired by today’s session ..read more

On Wednesday the 19th Montel Douglas come in to visit the Sky Sports students. We had a brilliant day. Once we learnt about Montel’s background, she taught us that there are 6 important factors you need to be a successful athlete which are, mental toughness, hunger to achieve, people skills, sports and life knowledge, breaking barriers and planning for success. After that the students did some team building exercises for example, everyone was on a bench and we had to get into height order without falling off.
