A real team effort and congratulations is thoroughly deserved! The team can’t wait to compete at Nationals again in Sydney in a few weeks! We were delighted to have Dangerous Minds team as guests to share with the current RTL students participating in our 4th Extension Workshops Series. All 5 team members of Dangerous Minds have participated in RTL Starter and Extension Workshops. They’ve all been student leaders. This is where they met. Our Undergraduate facilitators and me personally could not be happier for Dangerous Minds. They backed themselves, worked hard against all the odds, pla ..read more

https://youtu.be/UY9SGeloiKs This is a student led team that meet twice a week and most days in the holidays. They have recruited some adult mentors that have relevant technical knowledge. They are all learning together. Parents are also helping the team align with First’s core values. Gemma Wildermuth, founder of the team has a passion for STEM and Robotics. She has competed in First Lego League (FLL) and First Robotics (FRC). She travelled to Uruguay to compete on the International stage in June. She wanted to form a team with peers she met through Real Time Learning Workshops. Gemma felt ..read more

“The pace of change has never been this fast, yet it will never be this slow again.” Thank you @Michael Pridis of Faethem for sharing this line from Trudeau’s Speech at Davos. For this reason alone, Learning and Development must be a focus at all stages of one’s life. The focus needs to be on people. What people coming to work want… We can do much more in regard to collaborative partnerships between Industry, Government and Education. Great dialogue that followed ..read more

Internet of Things (IoT) makes way for many new exciting opportunities! I particularly enjoyed participating in design thinking workshops that explore how we might transform the way we see Water, Agriculture and Health Care through the Internet of Things (IoT) lens. So many “Wicked” Problems that align with the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that we can address through IoT. The best part of all is that such innovations require the input of a very diverse range of Stakeholders. This is what Bill Ruh, Chief Digital Officer at Lendlease was referring to when he said, “This innova ..read more

What energy do you bring in to the room and more importantly to those most closest to you? I’m going to share some slides of Kamal's that really resonated with me. Whilst we live an age of abundance why are many of us reporting lower levels of perceived well being. Why do we feel oppressed by time? How Stressed are we really? This is great for Leaders.. If we are feeling like there simply is not enough time in the day maybe we need to practice … And Energy drinks like this just act like a Credit Card – One day we have to pay it back When did we say good bye to Work Life Balance? Some actiona ..read more
