Has anyone ever gotten a response back from the Nelnet “written request” email account?

Serious question. I’m curious if I’ll be waiting forever or if I should actually expect a reply. It’s sad that this is even a legitimate question i have to ask about the company responsible for my life’s biggest responsibility… will they answer me? submitted by /u/City-Grl [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Some background, some whining from a 63yo, and request for input... After 40 years of abuse (10yo through 24-year marriage), I closed my in-home childcare business of 20 years and returned to college at 50 to get a 2nd BS (Addiction Studies) and an MS (Clinical Mental Health Counseling). I love my work...I go to one of my offices at a non-profit (PSLF), work over 40 hours with Substance Use Disorder and/or Trauma clients, and my workplace puts money in my bank every other Friday! It is amazing after all those years to be working in the calling of my life. Since 2010 when I returned to school ..read more

Has my SAVE application been denied?

I submitted an application back in September. Since that time, I did the reconsolidation to get my loan out from Nelnet-owned and chose Aidvantage to service it. In February Aidvantage sent me the repayment schedule, which was under a standard repayment plan. They also placed the loan under administrative forebearance which just ended. Questions: Does this standard repayment schedule they sent me mean that the SAVE application was denied? Can I resubmit or would doing so screw up the first application that might be still working its way through the system? Is there any point? submitted by /u ..read more

What are the implications of being claimed as a dependent on my parents taxes vs independent and having 0 income in 2023 with regards to the SAVE plan? If I’m claimed as a dependent then would they be using my parent’s income to calculate my payments? submitted by /u/Cyberman007 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hi everyone! I just applied to the SAVE program with Nelnet and now my account is on administrative forbearance until May 2025. Is this strictly just so they can process my application and once i’m approved or denied from SAVE they take the forbearance off? May2025 seems like a long time! submitted by /u/SweetNSimple95 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

23 years with these loans! Are they doing payment count adjustments still and does anyone know the anticipated completion date of all of this? This is friggin' frustrating! I'm reading all these posts of people who've recently consolidated knowing their exact payment count towards forgiveness. The mental anguish is something... submitted by /u/BulkyShare4 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I’ll try to keep this short. Apologies in advance if I’m missing pertinent info. Graduated in 2023 with 150k in unsubsidized loans (consolidated). Work for a non-profit making 150k. I’m on the SAVE plan, through Mohela, and my monthly payment is $14/month. I was able to have them consolidated. Currently on the SAVE plan through Mohela. my understanding of PSLF and IDR is as follows. PSLF will forgive any remaining debt after I make 120 qualifying payments while working for a non-profit for 10 years. SAVE is a type of IDR plan which gives me the lowest possible monthly payment (max is 10% max ..read more

Today i decided to check my Credit Score and apply for a credit card. When i looked at my details had noticed that almost all my student loans were marked as closed. I hadn't checked in a long time (years). I decided to then check my Loans in the student aide website to see what my total loans are. I had 22 loans total and it says (Total original amount awarded: $53,420) But my Total Principal balance is now only $3060 and 0 interest on all left. I never payed a dime. I do think I applied for the loan forgiveness back in 2019 and I sited Devry's misleading practices for the reason. Especially ..read more

tried to pay my student loan bill through ecsi today. no matter what i did, their website kept saying my card number was "invalid." I know for a fact my card works (literally just used it today) and even double checked the card and billing information i entered and double checked that they accept mastercard. tried putting the card number in there with and without spaces because they did not specify the format but nope. still could not find a reason that the card number would be marked as invalid. tried another card, still "invalid". tried both of those cards on chrome and safari after duck du ..read more
