Hi everyone,
I'm completely new to this sub, and Orienteering in general, but I have experience volunteering at different events (mainly cycling and hockey).
I've applied to volunteer at WOC2024, in Edinburgh, and I'm wondering how Orienteering events work in a city landscape, compared to cross country.
Sorry if it's a newbie question (please put it down to the fact I AM a newbie ?).

Hi folks,
Firstly I'm not an orienteer, I've dabbled but it makes my head swim. I am however a fellrunner who enjoys long score events the most. It used to be I could go a year racing mountain marathons but it seems to be a dying niche. The LAMM/Highlander/Rab have gone, Kong mini-mm seem to have gone as well.
Currently it seems that the last few left are: The New Chew fell race Preseli beast Saunders MM OMM lite OMM Lake district mountain trial.
Can anyone recommend any others? Capricorn is not on this year, Copeland chase maybe?
Also I'll be in the black forest and french Alps around July/A ..read more
