Anti-anxiety/anti-depressants that don’t cause dry eyes?

Wondering if anyone has experience with this. I went through a traumatic injury last November and have been having a hard time coping mentally. I was on Lexapro and Atarax which caused dry eyes. As soon as I stopped those medications, my dry eyes got noticeably better. I do need help with my depression and anxiety as a result of my PTSD. I would like to get on another medication to help me during this time but afraid of causing more issues. Anyone have some advice? Thanks! submitted by /u/alyssummaritimum [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

How to my meibomian glands look

I was told they’re completely fine and that they’re not clogged either but I’ve been dealing with sore, tired, dry irritated eyes for a while despite being on Cequa for about 9 months. I also got a tear count checked and it’s fine and my tear quality apparently isn’t that bad. No over the counter eye drops work for me either. I was told I have meibomianitis? He said that the oil is coming out cloudy so Ive now been on 100 mg of doxycycline monohydrate for about 2 weeks he gave me a 1 month supply and told me I should start to see improvement within a week but I can’t say if it’s any bette ..read more

Bump on eyelid

I have noticed today that I have a bump on my eyelid. I went to the eye doctor about 2 months ago and she said that I have slight dry eyes. I was doing mostly good with the magnesium supplements and the warm compress massage. However for the first time, my eyelid swelled up today and there's this small bump on it that's red and that hurts. I couldn't find a good dry eyes specialist near me so I can't identify what I have exactly. And the eye doctors dismiss it. I wake up with crusty eyes and I have dandruff on my eyelashes that I clean everyday. I did have subbrehoic dermatitis in my hair too ..read more

Is this dry eye? Odd bumps

The past week or so, I had a sudden onset of dry eyes. It mainly affects my right eye, which feels gritty and overall just irritated. Oddly, it started after crying a lot one night. I went to an urgent care and they gave me pink eye drops, but it definitely wasn’t bacterial. The second pic shows how red my right eye was last week and the first pic is now. On my lower lid margin, I have these weird bumps. It’s not oil or anything since the bumps remain when I wipe away with a q-tip. I’m super worried this is sudden meibomian gland dysfunction. Warm eye masks only help slightly, allergy dro ..read more

Shelf Life of Serum Tears

My doctor just prescribed serum tears for me last week. I went in on Friday and had my blood drawn. Since they can make the tears in office, I was able to pick them up two hours later. I purchased a six-month supply as he felt this was my best option. When I picked them up, I was told to freeze the bottles I was not using and that the one bottle I was using could be stored in the fridge for 30 days but that I wouldn’t need that long as they wouldn’t last that long. Based on my math, each bottle should last two weeks. (I’m taking it four times per day.) What concerns me is that I’m seeing othe ..read more

The redness in the corners of my eye are still here. I'm really concerned.

Idk if this got worse or I just had a better camera. I can't look for a doctor right now, but can anyone please tell me what this is? (If you have the same experience, but I'm hoping you're ok now). I'm really worried and I hope these won't stay with me. I thought of surgery if I have the money but I'm scared of the risk. I'm also scared of doctors getting money out of me. But I will find a good one if I can. submitted by /u/mikasa_stan4ever [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Dry eyes due to Citalopram (Celexa)

Hey guys, I've had very dry eyes for a few years now and I've been to a local specialised eye clinic and have tried everything from IPL to punctum plugs and anti allergy eye drops. Except for the plugs (that helped a bit) nothing has really improved my dry eyes and so the doctor suggests I lower my dose of Citalopram to see if that's causing the dryness. I've been on 20mg of citalopram (anti-depressant) for a few years and I really love it, it has helped me become so much more grounded, calm and most importantly: way less anxious . I've had extensive therapy in the past but the anxiety that I ..read more

Are dry eyes and conjunctivitis related?

Heyy so I am 18 and I suffer from I would say medium dry eyes (it is really frustrating to me and does affect me daily, however, luckily I am still able to do computer work and study without that having a negative impact on my eyes)... 3 weeks ago, I got a conjunctivitis, today I woke up and realized I got it again?! How is that possible? I never had it in my life before and now being affected two times in a single month is making me freak out! Any advice or experience?-Looking forward to it and wishing everyone reading this all the best! submitted by /u/Dryeyesss [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
