I was food shopping and found these at Stop N Shop, which is east coast MA-based. It’s a sister/child brand of Giant grocery stores, so they may have them as well. submitted by /u/IntrovertPharmacist [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Anyone here doing low FODMAP for ME/CFS?

I am just curious. I have had a few major health issues and after each one my body seems less able to cope. I might have an autoimmune disease, but lack clear biomarkers to indicate which one. I have two first cousins with Celiac’s, I lack ‘the gene’ but am gluten intolerant, with inflammatory markers and joint pain resulting from eating a gluten diet and eliminated entirely when I’m gluten free. Combined with eliminating specific high FODMAP trigger foods and following a strict low FODMAP diet when I have GI issues I have improved my overall health, but I still have “issues.” One issue is al ..read more

Tips for a family outing?

Next weekend my parents are taking my partner and I to a baseball game with tailgating and an overnight stay at a motel. It's all very casual, and I know I'll have to bring some safe foods to make sure I stay low FODMAP. What are your favorite common travel hacks? This is central Wisconsin, so not a lot of options outside of your standard freeway stop fare for the most part. It's there a junk food option or a drink I can get at a baseball stadium? It's a decent one, but not major league. Any tips for ordering at diners or burger joints? Or, should I just plan on eating in the car and enjoying ..read more

Zzzquil

Been a great few months doing the low FODMAP, really improved my quality of life. Last week or so my symptoms reverted and had a lot of burping/gas/bloating again. Lots of heartburn as well. Only thing I can think of is adding zzzquil, a half dose at night. Anyone have experience with these types of medications? I’m thinking now maybe it’s the alcohol content? Figured that would’ve been negligible but maybe I’m wrong. submitted by /u/Ladithir [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I started my FODMAP diet a bit less than a year ago. And while I've relapsed, and started again I've always gone back to this reddit sub for advice and info. Last year the diet influenced me so much that it actually came back in my art. As fellow fodmappers I hope you can appreciate the humor of it. Below my abstract creation called "Autumn's Harvest", technically courgette and aubergine which were my go to foods. submitted by /u/unlikely_beetroot [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I really don't like cooking anymore and mostly eat out, I'm trying to eat better and avoid taking daily medication to help with symptoms. Are there any good, reasonably priced($150/week max) prepared meal delivery places? I'm in California. submitted by /u/Adventurous-Love9997 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hello, thank you for taking the time to read/answer. I've eaten ALOT of green aspargus the past few days, since I thought it is very low fodmaps. Surprise, surprise, it is VERY high fodmaps Why do I digest it perfectly? I just dont get it. I ate some watermelon a few days ago and got symptoms immediately, isnt it kinda the same? I've done a lot of pricey tests and my doc suspects I have fodmap, so Ive been following it closely. Now I am just confused and unsure if I can add things/what I even have. submitted by /u/TheTrueBlade [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hey everyone, I took a break from this sub for a while but wanted to come back with an encouraging update. I appreciated everyone’s advice, and took the most important one: I found a registered dietician to work with. It changed the game for me! I am now eating meals that are delicious, filling, non restrictive and low FODMAP. And I am symptom free!!! My mental health has improved greatly as well now that I am not constantly anxious and afraid of what I’m eating. I will try to share things I’ve learned as I know dietitians are inaccessible and expensive, but I will say it is an individualized ..read more

Mac n cheese

Hey everyone! I know this recipe has been shared before but I just wanted to let everyone know that I tried batch cooking and freezing it and it turned out amazing! I made the whole recipe, then used a food scale to weigh it into 6 portions and froze them in quart sized bags. 3-4 minutes in the microwave and you have delicious creamy low FODMAP mac n cheese for lunches or dinner sides. As a former boxed and frozen Mac lover, this was a game changer for me when I need quick, comforting, tummy safe meals. submitted by /u/Latter-Fruit-5449 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
