This Easter weekend marks a soft start of the tourist season for Stockholm. Not the beginning of the busy, high season (which doesn't start until the summer months), but it does mean that several of the main sightseeing tours from the Strömma company start running again after a winter break. Yesterday, I visited the Museum of Spirits ("Spritmuseum") with a friend to see the newly opened Pierre et Gilles exhibition: "Troubled Waters" (showing until September 8th). I have always been a fan of the work of Pierre et Gilles and had been looking forward to the exhibition. One of the fun, annual holiday events in Stockholm is the Gingerbread House exhibition at the museum ArkDes (Sweden's National Center for Architecture and Design). This is actually a competition as well and the entries are all on display in the exhibition, until January 9th, with winners being awarded on December 19th. I went out for dinner recently with some fellow expats to celebrate Thanksgiving. No turkey, but we still had a delicious dinner at the restaurant The Hills. I had been to the Hills a couple of times earlier, but usually just for drinks and mostly in the summer when they have a great outdoor seating area. So it was high time that I tried their menu!
