I am originally -6 Had an eye exam and complained of blurry vision mostly at night when I read road signs. My optometrist added extra cylinder -0.25 to one eye and -0.25 sphere to other eye. I had my old glasses and new glasses and saw a negligible difference when reading road signs. I see the moon clearly on the old and new glasses. The difference is a very slight shadow above moon using the old glasses. Blurriness was obvious with the old glasses before but now I suddenly see okay with it. ? I still see shadows in lights during the dark. Did I make a mistake? Was it over corrected? I guess ..read more

High change in prescription?

Back in January I was finally able to go to the eye doc after not seeing one for 3 years due to money/insurance. I feel like this is a pretty big jump compared to my old prescription? I just ordered my new pair of glasses last night so it’ll be a bit before I can physically tell the difference but the prescription change on paper worries me. I’ve also dealt with headaches/migraines on the daily basis but I can’t determine whether or not it’s due to glasses because it’s been an ongoing thing since I was maybe 14/15. I’m 24 now and whenever I have had the chance to see a doctor, they waive it o ..read more

As the title says, I (24m) needed new glasses for a while but was dreading the increase and inevitable slide into double digits. Finally took the plunge and went from -9.75 to -11. I'm a bit sick of spending an arm and a leg at lenscrafters and being told I can't get any frame I like, so decided to get my glasses thru Zenni for the second time (used them a few years ago at around -7, glasses came out nice). The good news? I'm finally wearing my preferred type of frame, rectangular frameless/half-rims, and it's not impossible to make em in my prescription as they claimed when I tried to pi ..read more

Correcting/Reversing my myopia (as a child)

IDK whether this is the right area to post this, but I've recently noticed some blurring in my vision. I know this isn't genetic since no one in my family has gotten myopia as a child. Will this affect me for a long-term period since my eyes are still developing, and what are some tips to slow or reverse it? (I've only noticed reading text from far distances have put more strain on my eyes, but my vision itself isn't bad as I can still notice details..? Just reading text is hard) submitted by /u/East-Box-8015 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

my vision has been getting worse and worse since the age of 4. i am almost 18. i have attached my prescription from June 2023. i am struggling to watch videos online. i turn off screens quickly now because my eyes hurt. i am constantly taking my glasses off or closing my eyes because things are too bright. i find it hard to read for school. my parents both have high prescriptions and bad vision, and my brother has glasses too, but my vision is getting even worse than everyone else's, and it has been progressively getting worse for over a decade. i need new glasses every year or so. what a ..read more
