PGA Tour pro Wesley Bryan will line up at The CJ CUP Byron Nelson with two 4-irons in his bag. Bryan has replaced his 5-iron with a second 4-iron to supplement his Takomo iron array. The ‘extra’ 4-iron is a Titleist T200, and the move has a lot to do with the yardage gapping between the two 4-irons he will be using. It’s been a long time coming for Patrick Cantlay to finally upgrade from his Titleist 718 AP2 irons. Cantlay has been a tour professional who is averse to change and loves to stick with what has worked for him. This is an interesting golfing dilemma, with a video showing a ball that has been embedded in the ground into the lip of the cup. There is a rule that goes part way to addresssing this, but it is unclear from the video whether the ball is resting against the flagstick. That is golf’s Rule 13.2c. Collin Morikawa has followed the lead of fellow TaylorMade athlete Rory McIlroy in adding a prototype iron to his bag. The club is not currently marketed for sale by TaylorMade, but McIlroy suggested that they look and feel like a replacement for TaylorMade’s P7MC irons. Scheffler resumed his domination by winning the storm-delayed RBC Heritage in South Carolina at the weekend, his fourth victory in five attempts.
