A spectacular visual extravaganza took place during the weekend of August 19th. Over 30 artists, local, national and international, got together for the Docks Mural & Graffiti Event 2023.  This event followed the footsteps of its earlier successful version, ‘Meeting of Styles’, which did well with three editions in the early 2000s. District 13 (DC13) and Amsterdam Street Art teamed up to bring these kind of creative events back to life. The gathering took place at De Steiger in Almere Haven, where the huge Plastopil building’s wall served as a canvas. Painting the Moxy chain

ASA thrives on creative collaborations, but we often stumble on misconceptions about commissioned work. Some might believe it’s just a matter of providing a design to be mindlessly replicated, while others fear being left in the dark, unsure of what the artist will create. The truth is that it’s all about striking the perfect balance. And working with the Moxy hotel chain is the perfect example of that. When we take on a project for Moxy we always have a similar approach: Apto Architects provides a graffiti direction—a general idea of what should adorn each wall and how large the artwork shou ..read more

It was 2015 when Amsterdam Street Art came up with the idea to organize the Street Art Awards. Shortly before that, McDonalds came up with the graffiti burger and we were surprised by Ikea with a true Street art line. If we had not done this at the time, a large commercial party would undoubtedly have run off with completely different intentions. It was about appreciation, a grea ..read more
