The midfielder’s been chatting again
Ilkay Gundogan has been talking again and has had some more advice to his team-mates about how they can use the experience of losing to PSG to their advantage.
The German international caused some controversy in midweek with his comments after the dismal defeat but believes it can be a useful learning experience.
Here’s what he’s said
“What’s important is that a game like Paris can happen, it’s normal, especially for a team like us: young players, not so experienced in the competition. If you look at the knockout games b ..read more

Yep, this one’s back again
Bayern Munich are reportedly ready to reignite their interest in Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Bavarian giants were linked with De Jong back in 2022 and Relevo reckon they are ready to get the saga back up and running again this summer.
Bayern apparently have around “€150 million plus whatever they earn from sales” to spend this summer and are sniffing around De Jong.
It’s worth mentioning that Bayern keen on being linked with Ronald Araujo too, although the defender has said repeatedly he wants to say and added yester ..read more

The captain has opened up on the situation
Barcelona captain Sergi Roberto has tried to play down talk of a possible dressing room rift at the club ahead of El Clasico on Sunday.
There’s been talk of a problem between Ronald Araujo and Ilkay Gundogan after the defender didn’t take too kindly to the German’s post-match comments after defeat to PSG.
Roberto has been asked about the situation and insists all is well:
“Those statements have brought external noise but nothing in the locker room. We are very united. Gündogan explained what ..read more

Must-win game
After such a crushing defeat against Paris Saint-Germain earlier in the week, Xavi is going to find it difficult to raise the morale of a group of players that are set to end the season with nothing to show for their efforts.
El Clásico should be the one game where players from both sides need no extra motivation, but the Blaugranes are clearly lacking in that department as their performance once Ronald Araujo was sent off against PSG shows.
There’s no ‘elite mentality’ other than perhaps from Ilkay Gundogan and one or two others, so whe ..read more

The choice has apparently come down to just two
Barcelona have reportedly decided that it’s a straight choice between Xavi or Rafa Marquez as to who will lead the side next season.
The club’s continued financial uncertainty is once again affecting on-pitch matters which has led Barca to turn back to the two former players.
Xavi has already said he plans to stand down at the end of the season, but Joan Laporta is keen for him to continue and will speak to him again after El Clasico.
