Is box dye worth fresh hair every 2/3mo?

Hiiii… I know we all hate box dye, I’ve had black hair for a few years now & I’m trying to see if getting box dye is worth me having fresh black hair every few months. I don’t see myself ever going blonde as I’ve been blonde before and it doesn’t suite me, if I were to get highlights or a balayage again, I’d get brown with my black hair being the main color. Should I just say f it and do it? What are the best box dye brands? ( I want blue black ) Thanks so much! submitted by /u/Maleficent-Outcome55 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hi, I’m starting cosmetology school soon and I’m super excited but I’m getting really worried. I have carpal tunnel and am scarred that it will get in the way, or that I am making a mistake. Does anyone have tips for hand shaking or have they had to deal with this themself? Thanks so much:)! submitted by /u/IntentionEuphoric67 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I’m in cosmetology school right now, and this is my dream and I’m so excited about. I’m still new I just finished ten weeks of natural hair braiding but I feel like I am awful at it. Idk what to do, I’m learning hair cuts and dye right now. I want to be good and I’m nervous that I’m not. submitted by /u/Clear-Listen8769 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I just took my nc cosmetology practical. I missed it by 3 points. I missed 4 out of 8 points from the hair cut section. I missed 2 out of 4 on the work area set up. I got 3 out of 5 right on the predisposition test. Anyone know how the scoring works? What are they exactly looking for? I thought I did the perm perfect. I wrapped cotton, used base and gloves. But I made a 5 out 8 on that one. Help please ?? submitted by /u/BananaKind5670 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

All these positions were assisting positions I applied to. I’ve been applying to and interviewing with a bunch of salons since August 2022 when I just got my license, the first few months I had it I applied to around 15 salons and got interviews with like 5… all the interviews went good and everything seemed fine then they would always say “okay you have to wait two weeks then we’ll let you know if you got the job or not” then I would wait and they would never call me I would always have to call them, then they would just tell me “we decided to go with another candidate”. 90% of the time when ..read more

Hello this seemed like an okay forum to ask this, I'm looking for some tips on styling my hair in a finger waves style? Mostly recommended products & technique etc. I have pretty short slightly wavy hair. I've heard the "It's a 10 firm hold gel" is supposed to be good but I'm looking for a second opinon. Thanks! For reference, I'm going for this sort of look. Any assistance is appreciated. https://preview.redd.it/7w7y8akdinwc1.png?width=800&format=png&auto=webp&s=b8bc8d22fe57659e5925078ca59a634de5faf1b6 submitted by /u/BuddyBoyPal [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hey all former Aveda cosmetologist here but never got the hang of color that well. I dye my hair myself and usually do a simple 4N but it’s been pulling too red lately. I was thinking of adding B/G to it. Would this help or would it make it fall flat? I don’t want a muddy brown even ashy would be great just tired of the red cast. submitted by /u/Bug1234567890 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
