Worse came to worst for the Rainbow Warrior basketball team with the announcement that leading scorer Noel Coleman will miss the rest of the season because of a fractured orbital. The condition is so fragile that even a face shield would not offer enough protection. Coleman, a guard, is averaging 14.8 points on 44.1% 3-point shooting. Madut, Colina to pursue pro dreams after this season

Two University of Hawaii basketball juniors — guard Junior Madut and center Mate Colina — have decided to pursue pro aspirations and not return for their senior seasons in 2022-23. Not since Sept. 24, 2016 has a University of Hawaii women’s volleyball team ventured into the Mott Athletics Center and departed with a victory. It was Dave Shoji’s final year leading the Rainbow Wahine and Nikki Taylor put away 25 kills in a 32-34, 27-25, 25-17, 25-20 win over Cal Poly. The Rainbow Wahine volleyball team will try to extend its winning streak in the storied series with Long Beach State today at the Walter Pyramid.
