Today, the Metro board approved extending the agency’s popular GoPass program that makes free transit available to students in most K-12 schools and community colleges in L.A. County. The Metro GoPass program has been in effect since its 2021 approval for an initial two years, when it replaced an announced universal fareless transit initiative. The full program officially launched in late 2021. The city of Los Angeles Transportation Department (LADOT) recently added 1.25 miles of new bike lanes in Northeast L.A. The project is mainly located in a neighborhood called Happy Valley, which spans the eastside communities of Lincoln Heights and Montecito Heights. LADOT recently installed 1.25 miles of new bike lanes on Lincoln Park Avenue, Flora Street, and Sierra Street.
