Hi all,
I'm new to this city but I really want to garden and there aren't any community gardens nearby. I'm in Pacific Heights. There's an empty planter in front of my apt complex that looks so depressing every time I walk out. I wish they'd replace the sycamore tree that was here but I don't know if the city will do anything in the near future. I was wondering if anyone knew if it would be ok or even worth it to plant some flowers (medium height) considering it's city property and along the remodeled Van Ness Avenue, the city might want to keep the street plants looking cohesive.

Somebody’s Ford escape has taken the name literally. If this is your Ford, and you are missing your car, it can be found on Masonic between Pine and Euclid. It is sitting with its flashers on powered by a dying 12 V battery halfway in the left traffic lane. Someone kindly made a handwritten sign which they attached to a well worn cone that reads “abandoned car; possibly stolen.” I haven’t called the SFMTA just yet come get your car!
