Okay, this injury thing is getting ridiculous. It was bad enough when it was just the pitchers and an occasional hitter, but now I have teams where I have two or three of my most valuable offensive players who’ve just disappeared to the IL overnight. Please, blog, may I have some more ..read more

Sing it with me:
“War, huh, yeah
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing, uhh
War, huh, yeah
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing
Say it again, y’all
War, huh (good God)
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing, listen to me, oh”
We all know the tune and now you’ll be singing it in your head for the next hour or two. Please, blog, may I have some more ..read more

13 games is a (good) racket! I am mindful of the fact that the math can be done to analyze the odds of one of 13 games producing 10+ runs, but I also know I do not want to attempt that math. Please, blog, may I have some more ..read more

So, here’s where I give you the grain of salt. The White Sux suck. Their team name is White Sux. No worse sucking than a team named Sux. The heart of their lineup is Mendick/Sheets, which is as exciting as the Orthodox Jewish sex image it elicits. Please, blog, may I have some more ..read more

The Daulton Varsho Trilogy has been an entertaining one, full of ups and downs, laughter and grief, expectations and disappointments, birth, death, and resurrection. He made his MLB debut in 2020, showed enticing promise in 2021 with 11 home runs and six stolen bases in 315 plate appearances, resulting in a top 100 ADP heading into 2022, when he broke out with 27 home runs and 16 home runs in 592 plate appearances, which caused his ADP to meteorically rise into the top 40 for the following season. Today we reflect on a form of blurb elusive to those not steely of eyes, or dan of mind. Jorge Luis Borges once contended that every story ever written is part of the 1,001 Nights, a beautiful idea that places the timeless prose of Faulkner or Wolff on the same pedestal as the Olive Garden advertising copy, "When you're here, you're family." One might not believe a fantasy baseball blurb worthy of said pedestal, but if one looks carefully, stories of passion emerge from the morass. On Wednesday evening, the following blurb appeared on Rotoworld ..read more

What is up party people? We mostly focus on the positive, but not everyone has gotten off to a rockin start. Take, for example, Jordan Walker. You know him well as Razzball favorite, destined for fantasy stardom. To put it bluntly, the results have not been that of a fantasy star and obviously the Red Birds feel the same way since they just sent him down to AAA. So far the points just haven't been there and with a .164 batting average this season it's not difficult to see why. Unfortunately the news doesn't get much better when you look beyond that to his 18 strikeouts and only 6 wa ..read more

Orioles OF Heston Kjerstad was recalled after laying waste to Triple-A for a few weeks. He started in right field on Tuesday and should be in the lineup most nights from here forward. Baltimore continues to be perplexing in their efforts to fold these talent waves into the roster build, so there’s always a chance Kjerstad goes cold and winds up back in the minors, but I’m betting against that at this point, which is exactly what I would’ve said in spring training, so yeah . . . very helpful stuff from me.  ..read more
