Holy cow. I have missed the Doll Book of the Month Club for the second month in a row. Honestly, I can't find my books. I brought two from Emma's that I was going to do when we moved back to the house, plus one here, and I can't find any of them. I really need to sort some books out.   And it has been a month and a half since my sister and I went to the toy show, and I still haven't shown you what I got. Today I am taking a sit down day because yesterday my bad leg and my back were hurting so much, and I was so stiff, that I could hardly walk. So, it seems like a good time to ..read more

I posted Saturday's doll show pretty quickly, before it got as strung out as the last one! So here I am, finishing up on the last one, by showing you what I got.   I was trying to be good. But there were a few things I regretted not buying at this show last September. (You can see the post on that show HERE.) I intended to see if they were at this show, and maybe buy them.      The first thing I bought was a Mini Brands book. "A Christmas Carol"! Some of you may know that's one of my 'things'. I hadn't seen the Mini Brands books before ..read more

Last Doll Show of the Spring
Planet of the Dolls

If you read my last post, you'll know that I had a load of problems, one of which I thought at first was missing the doll show. Then I found out that I didn't miss it. It was this weekend instead! So yesterday I went to the doll show, the last doll show of the Spring in my area. And before we get behind again, here is just some of the best of the doll show from yesterday.   Some of the first dolls I spotted were these Dionne Quintuplets. The real Dionne Quintuplets were real quintuplets, born in Ontario, Canada in 1934.They were the first quintuplets to survive infancy, so ..read more

Napoleon Dynamite, and the Good, the Bad, and the Expensive! Plus, Antique Mall Dolls!
Planet of the Dolls

I'm still working on the doll show post, and the toy show goodies post. But in the meantime I have some fun things to show you from an antique mall we went to in March. March was my birthday month, so I got to choose the stuff we did on our 'Fun Day'. On one of those days we went to an antique mall. I bought a few things, but not many. But there were loads of great dolls there. It was almost as good as a doll show. I thought I'd show them to you.  First though, I have a tale to tell. I don't know how your weekend was, but mine was both fun and crap. It started out to be fun ..read more

I am getting so far behind with posts! I still have some doll show finds, some toy show finds, and an antique mall trip to show you dolls from! My sister and I have been busy lately too. We went to see the Pee Wee Herman bike, we went to the afore mentioned  toy show, we have a Q& A showing of Napoleon Dynamite this week. But last Saturday we went to a doll show. My sister, who still says she doesn't collect dolls, went home with three more this time! We'll see some stuff I saw at the show, and  I'll show you what I bought in the next post.   This show is kind o ..read more

I've Got Darkness, On a Sunny Day: We Got the Total Eclipse!
Planet of the Dolls

Okay. I might as well post my eclipse pictures. I already posted them on the blog's Facebook page, (Which you can find HERE. I repost extra stuff from elsewhere sometimes, so check it out.)    We were really lucky. It was supposed to be cloudy and overcast, but instead we had a beautiful, sunny, blue sky-ed day. That meant we were able to see the eclipse perfectly. We left town and went about a half hour away to get a few extra seconds of totality. It was almost four minutes, but it seemed much shorter. Here in this hunk of Ohio we got total eclipse, but it wasn't pitch dark li ..read more

Tammy World and I Had a Busy Month: Toy Show, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Titanic, and Pee Wee Herman

My birthday was last month. I turned 62. Ken says we get to enjoy the whole month as part of our birthday. So I did a lot of stuff last month. And of course, Tammy World wanted to come along for the fun. (She didn't have to age though. She's still ten years old.)   On my birthday we went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to see the new enductees exhibit just for the Kate Bush part. "Bit windy!"  I've loved Kate Bush since 1978, and I was so glad she got into the Hall of Fame. Me with the Kate exhibit. She's there, sandwiched between Willie Nelson and Geor ..read more

Happy Saint Patrick's Day
Planet of the Dolls

Happy St. Patrick's Day.  I was going to take a new St. Patrick's Day picture this year, but I misplaced Tammy World's hat. So this picture is from 10 years ago. I figured that's a long time, and you won't remember it. I'm not one of those people who make a big fuss over St. Patrick's Day, but I like to take part!  There will be a new post about my doll show purchases soon, as well as another doll-centric post on somewhere else I went recently.  ..read more

Doll Show Haul Part 1: Lotte Sievers Hahn Boy and a Lovely Lady
Planet of the Dolls
by
1M ago
As usual, I am behind in things. I haven't shown you what I got at the doll show yet. I didn't get many things, since I was trying to be good, both with money and space. I was trying to make it all the way around the show before I bought anything, because I had a limited budget and you never know what you might find farther on. (Of course, you risk it not being there when you go back for it too.)  But I found this beautiful little guy for only $10. I had to snap him up!   He's a Lotte Sievers Hahn doll. You may have seen my others HERE, HERE, and HERE. This guy is a di ..read more

First Doll Show of the Year!
Planet of the Dolls
by
2M ago
Recently I went to my first doll show of the year. I tried to be good. I don't need more dolls right now, and we have loads of things that require money to be done. But Ken gave me some money to be used at the show for birthday presents if I wanted, because my birthday is fats approaching. I was comparitively really good. I spent almost the whole show having spent only $11. Then it turned to $13 when I bought a $2 doll just to steal the clothes for Tammy World. (Hey, she has to get something, right? At least she thinks she does.) The show was almost over, and I decided to go back ..read more
