When Vision Baptist Church was officially started in March of 2006 we had all the dreams and desires of most church plants. We prayed that God would use our combined efforts to see people come to know Christ and become followers of Him. It was also our desire that God would use our new church plant to be a place that people could be equipped for missions service. Over the last 12 years God has been very gracious to us and allowed us to see this dream become a reality! In the summer of 2005 a handful of use moved to Alpharetta. We started to learn the “lay of the land” and begin meeting people ..read more

Our Student Pastor, Trent Cornwell, has started a series of blog article for our teenagers. The articles are written for teenagers but have strong applications to all of us. We would encourage you check out the website for our Student Ministry. You can subscribe to get articles and read this blog in its entirety. [clear-line] The phrase “What hath God wrought?” is first seen in history in the story told by Moses in Numbers 23. Here, at the close of their journey, we find the power of men and Satan combined to curse them. It was  the very thing they deserved, if dealt with accordin ..read more

Last night we saw an answer to the prayers of many people. It has been our desire for many years now to have the opportunity to serve in the local jail by leading Bible studies. Over the last year, especially, Joseph Reidy has kept this prayer requests before us. We are so thankful this door has been opened to us and we pray it remains open. After Kason Bloom received word there would be an opportunity for us to send in teams of men and women on  a monthly basis he quickly began recruiting volunteers. Over a two week period nearly 35 people had filled out the information needed fo ..read more

We had a great Sunday this past week as we celebrated the fourth of July by having our annual Tailgate Sunday. Many different Sunday school classes made different foods from Tamale’s to BBQ sliders to Indian food. We had a great time celebrating with each other. We had 290 people in attendance Sunday morning with 158 in the main service. We were excited to see a lot of visitors and members in attendance. Pastor preached a challenging message on Spiritual Warfare as we looked through the Bible to see the reality of demonic activity and how Satan is working to destroy our lives.   The pos ..read more

We hope you have been enjoying our member spotlights and have been able to better get to know our members. We had another great Sunday at Vision Baptist Church with 264 in attendance! Pastor preached a challenging message in our current Sunday AM series through the book of Mark entitled, “Living in Victory.” When we are saved we are made to not live in sin, God has given us power over sin and in Christ we can live in victory over sin. Sunday night we had a special time honoring our five seniors. We are excited about how each of them have been a blessing to our church and our youth group. We are excited to see them showing their love for God by doing ministry in our church! Please pray for each of t ..read more

Each month we try to spotlight members of our church. By spotlighting members of our church, we hope to give you the opportunity to better know the people of Vision. This month, take some time to get to know Lemar and Latasha.   Lemar did not grow up in a Christian home. The only reason he went to church one day at the age of seventeen was because his friend from high school invited him. That night was the night he realized his need for the Savior and got saved. Latasha grew up in a Pentecostal church that taught speaking in tongues as a commandment. At the age of sixteen, after year ..read more

II Corinthians 3:5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;  One of the hard things about the ministry of serving God is when we realize that we can do all in our power, and it will not be enough. God must move. God must work. Without Him, we are nothing and can accomplish nothing of lasting value. We humbly recognize that God has to do the work. We must pray. We must believe. We must wait on the Lord to move.  I ask you to pray. We are trying to do all within our power to evangelize the w ..read more

Wasted life?
Vision Baptist Church

I Corinthians 15:19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.  Paul makes it clear in I Corinthians 15 that if Jesus did not rise from the dead, then we have wasted our lives. Believing in Jesus is about much more than this life. If there is no life after death, then we are wasting our lives. The real story is that God is good and a blessing to us in this life, but that is not enough. If all we had were the quality of life that we have in Christ, we would be living miserable lives. Jesus rose from the dead. We that believe will also ..read more

I Corinthians 14:3 But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.  Paul was contrasting the gift of prophecy and the gift of tongues. The people were so impressed with those that spoke in tongues while the greater impression should have been with those that prophesied.  The prophecy was them getting a message from God for the people. The message was a message that edified or built up. The message was of exhortation or encouragement to do something for God. The message comforted the family of God.  Today as I ..read more
