Launched in February 2024, Denman’s very first College Star Competition, dubbed Denman’s Big Blowout Competition, tasked students with submitting front, back and side images of one brilliant blow dry.  Yasmin Ainsley, a student from East Durham College, was announced as Denman’s first College Star out of hundreds of entries. Changes to UK Tipping Laws in 2024

The Employment (Allocation of Tips) Act 2023, referred to as the Tipping Act, is expected to come into effect on 1 July 2024, and will make it unlawful for employers to withhold tips from workers. The Tipping Act received Royal Assent in May 2023, and states that businesses will no longer be able to keep tips from their staff, and will be required to make sure that all employees receive their tips in full – with very few exceptions where this does not apply.
