WETHERBY ARTS FESTIVAL
At the end of the term, Katy Hewison (local dance artist) will come into school to deliver an inspirational dance workshop for all year groups, part of Wetherby Arts Festival Project ‘Connecting with children & young people’ .
This year, the festival is outdoors taking place at the Tetley Ground (next to St James Church Hall, Wetherby) on 3rd, 4th & 5th September. Festival News Update
Wetherby Festival is taking a new course in 2021 because of the Coronavirus Pandemic.
It’s difficult to predict possible further waves of the virus in the autumn. A traditional indoor October Festival might still be potentially problematic in 2021, so we are planning an open-air event in warmer weather.
We are therefore aiming for a Festival weekend right at the end of the Summer holidays – 3rd 4th & 5th September. A lovely way to finish. Details of acts and venues have still to be finalised, but we are planning ..read more

Sadly, Edward ‘Ted’ Kilner passed away this week, November 2020. Ted was a very well known member of Wetherby’s community and active in many local groups and organisations including Wetherby Musical Theatre Group, really Youthful Theatre Group, Wetherby Arts Festival and as leader of the Crypt Youth Group. His career in the Forensic Science Service brought him to the town and he was also instrumental in the setting up of the Engine Shed.
