I get asked by people, “so, wow, Germany hey?”. And I say yup, it's fun. They love acoustic singer-songwriters who play folk, blues, and Americana music… good things that my bag.  I have an acoustic guitar, mandolin, and love to travel!  So, now I'm heading back from my third tour, and my fourth time in Germany and it doesn't feel that exciting anymore... it feels normal. Day of recent show: rogers hometown hockey with the boys....   I recently played a great show in Kamloops, BC called Rogers Hometown Hockey. They were going across Canada for a family friendly hockey weekend in towns all across Canada. I was chosen to play in Kamloops on Sunday Jan 14.   I got the call about six weeks ahead of time.   My first pageant... ever. Tall Clubs International has been running pageants for YEARS. In years past there has been up to 20 different ladies competing for the crown. In recent years, there have been fewer women, but it still makes the competition no less stiff. I had to compete first for the Vancouver BC, Sea to Sky Peaks crown, then continue on to Miss TI. So I guess technically I won two pageants! If I would have told my 17 year old self that I would be running in a beauty pageant...well... let's just say I surprised myself. One of the most interesting questions I get on a regular basis is "How the heck do you pack for your tour?".  I probably get the question because it's something I talk about alot with friends.  It causes me a certain amount of grief... and all the associated costs as each checked bag can add up quickly.  Nevermind if it gets lost... In particular, I need to take all my clothes, my guitar, my mandolin, CD's, merch and any microphones, cables etc... I don't subscribe to many magazines as I am a bit time crunched, however I do continue to receive one really cool Canadian magazine called Herizons.  I received the spring issue several months ago and have read most of the articles inside.  So it was much to my surprise as I was flipping through the magazine a few days ago and noticed my own album being reviewed!
