Don graduated from Luther College in 1952 and Luther Seminary in 1956. He taught High School English in Chicago Public Schools for thirty years. Rev. Rajeev Manohar Geddam is a member of Augustana who has been serving an internship this year at Kids Above All, a Methodist-affiliated non-profit agency. KAA works in early childhood education, supportive housing and trauma-informed counseling to build better lives for children in Chicago. Former Augustana members Al and Ann Roeseler gave Augustana a statue titled The Prodigal Son by the sculptor Egon Weiner. Weiner, also a former member, was a professor at the Art Institute of Chicago and practiced his theories of art, particularly public statues, in Chicago after fleeing Nazi-occupied Europe. Weiner also sculpted Ecce Homo in Augustana’s front courtyard and St. Paul, in the memorial garden. Perhaps his best known work is The Pillar of Fire outside the Chicago Fire Academy.
