Earlier today, Disney’s Hollywood Studios celebrated its 35th Anniversary with a celebration in the Theater of the Stars along Sunset Blvd. The 18-minute celebration featured Kermit and Miss Piggy has hosts, Walt Disney World ambassador Serena Arvizu, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios Vice President Jackie Swisher. Disney World continues to make wonderful progress on the upcoming Tiana’s Bayou Adventure attraction in Magic Kingdom. Splash Mountain closed in January 2023, and work has pretty much been full steam ahead since then to reimagine the attraction into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. As part of the latest work, crews have been testing and adjusting the nighttime lighting package for the ride. As part of Disney’s Hollywood Studios 35th anniversary celebration today, guests were given a commemorative park map that doubled as a poster. The park maps are readily available at the park entrance in addition to the standard park map. As the 2024 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival starts to wind down, Disney World has begun discounting nearly all of its branded Festival merchandise. While visiting EPCOT today, we noticed that there are 30% off signs throughout Creations Shop and other pop-up merchandise locations. According to the signage, the only merchandise that the discount does not apply to is the pin. Keep in mind that additional discounts such as an Annual Pass discount or DVC discount can be stacked with the 30% discount that applies to all guests. Overnight work to refresh the planet Mars continues at Mission: SPACE in EPCOT. Seemingly the final piece of the puzzle for the Planetary Plaza refresh, Mars is slightly more complicated than a simple repaint like the other planets. Crews appear to be working panel segment by panel segment, with many of the panels in various states of theming at the moment. Walt Disney World has added four new “Good-to-Go” dates to the Annual Passholder Park Pass theme park reservation calendar. Here’s the latest: New Passholder “Good-to-Go” Dates May 2 May 7 May 8 May 9 As a reminder, Good-to-Go Days are days when Annual Passholders will not be required to make a Disney Park Pass reservation to visit the Walt Disney World theme parks.
