After only 64 days on an AFL contract, New Zealander Mykelti Lefau has quickly made a name for himself, making his debut in Round 2, he has played every game for Richmond since and has improved immensely with each outing. Mykelti was elevated to the Richmond AFL list as part of the AFL’s Pre-Season Supplementary Selection Period, and with Richmond suffering from injury woe’s Mykelti was given his first opportunity to play on the big stage in Round 2 against Port Adelaide. The Coaching and Management Staff for the upcoming New Zealand Kahu Campaign in the Sunshine Coast in November has been announced, alongside additional regional coaches to assist with training in the leadup. Andrew Cadzow is a well known AFL international identity, and has been a great contributor to the game in NZ. Currently based in the Sunshine Coast, Andrew is a level 3 certified coach and will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the first senior women’s national side. The Central Giants have won their third premiership in a row, finishing the season unbeaten after beating the Saints by 17. The Southern Saints, desperate to spoil the Giants unbeaten run, started fast with Jaymee Wooddin kicking the first goal of the game within 90 seconds of the game starting. The Southern Stars have achieved a fantastic win against the Shakers in the final round of the Premiership. In their last opportunity to make their mark on the competition, the Southern Stars and Central Shakers started with a hiss and a roar, laying everything on the line and attacking the ball hard, the Stars put forward pressure on early. Shane Leat will take the reigns as captain of the Falcons for the first time in the upcoming clash against the All Stars. Frenchman Logan Bonhomme will step up and captain the All Stars.
