Blue Lachie Plowman has signed a 2 year contract. He will be at the club until the end of 2020. Plowman was drafted by the Giants at pick 3 then traded to the blues at the end of 2015. He has looked very impressive in the backline with the blues. Plowman already had a 1 year contract then extended it to 2 years. Scott Thompson from the kangaroos, thought the Roos weren’t going to give him a contract for 2018. He is 31 years old. He had a decent season finishing 9th in the Roos best and fairest. The reason for this was that a month after the season had ended North Melbourne had still not offered him another contract. He also knew that the Kangaroos are in a rebuilding time. Ben Sinclair sadly, has been forced to retire through injury. A once promising rising star nominee, has been forced to retire at the young age of 26. Sinclair played 63 games in 8 seasons as a pie. In 2014 he had problems with his hamstrings.  last year he had 4 concussions in only 14 games. In this years JLT preseason games he  badly tore his hamstring. Daniel Menzel is going to be wearing the blue and white in 2018. Daniel Menzel is going to sign a one year contract to stay at Geelong. Most people were saying Daniel doesn’t want to play for Geelong, and he’ll be a swap with Ablett but Geelong have managed to come out with both. Menzel will most likely sign within the next week. Ex Saint Jason Holmes was the first American to play a AFL game. Jason played 4 years at the Saints, while playing 5 senior games while at the Saints. Holmes turns 28 later this week. Gary Ablett has returned to Geelong after a emotional week. Earlier this week Gary’s sister died, she was in her mid thirties she was the eldest of Ablett’s siblings. Ablett is 33 years old. Gary wrote a letter to thank the Suns and Geelong for allowing him to finish of his career where it all started for Gary. The Suns received pick 19, future second roundpick, to convince them to allow the deal. Alongside Ablett Geelong also recievied pick 24 and 2018 fourth round pick. Jackson Trengove has moved to the Dogs, after 9 seasons playing for the Power. The 26 year old has been thanked for his contributions to the club, but port wouldn’t match the Dogs offer to resign him. Jackson won there 2011 best and fairest at only the age of 21 years old. The Ex power player was dropped ahead of round 21 this year, but never worked his way back into the lineup.
