Hi! I just want to ask for some advice. So I am a fresh grad and I'm currently unemployed but I still cant find a job due to some personal reasons for the next several months. Also I have been learning trading and already have good results in paper trading. If you are in my situation right now, will you still find a job or will you pursue daytrading and make it your business instead, given you have capital or you are able to avail a funded account? submitted by /u/ParkingNo5627 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

My personal trading journey for what it’s worth

I enjoy day trading and have learned so much about it over the years. I never try to discourage anyone from doing it, in fact I think the more you know about trading the more aware you are of the world around you. Here’s some things I would have done differently in my journey this far. For context I still have a regular job that I enjoy, but day trade/swing trade on the side. I traded full time for two years and it was very exciting. Today my strategy has changed and it’s more a mash up of everything I enjoy about equities/futures/forex. Many of you will disagree with my opinions and that’s f ..read more

Hey everyone, I've got a bit of a situation here. In a month of paper trading on NinjaTrader, I managed to turn $100k into $1.5 million, which was awesome! I made sure everything was as close to real trading as possible, including slippage and broker fees. But when it comes to real trading, it's like I hit a wall. My emotions get the better of me, and I find myself exitt8ng on trades way too early, moving my SL or TP, not waiting for my TP or SL to hit. I know I need to just be disciplined and replicate what I did in the demo, but when it's real money on the line, fear and greed kicks in ..read more

Advice for Trading channels.

Does anyone have some advice for trading a trending channel? I usually do pretty well after about 4 months of surviving, but I notice the majority of my losses come from trading a channel. Either I’m trying to scalp the inside and it breaks out or I trade a breakout and it fails. I trade in the one minute time frame so it’s very noisy and I keep my stops very tight. Does anyone have some strategies that work for them? submitted by /u/ExtensionScary [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

How in the world is AvaTrade still good and operating?

The title says it all, they are scam artists and i've seen a lot of people online that have gotten robbed from them. They have even called me to invest, which no legitimate broker would ever call you over the phone. Avoid AvaTrade, we need to make this louder because it's ridiculous how they legimitaly operate when they freeze the accounts of people who have big amounts. submitted by /u/Subject-Insurance-88 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I feel so fucking stupid I want to blow my brains out. I was short spx and SMCI. I haven't had a red day in weeks and the ones I had were 1% or less made back the next day. My power went out for .3 seconds. Restarted computer. Error. I've never seen this error in my life. Go to phone check. Premium burned off of all contracts after Jerome and SMCI up 90 dollars. I took a 44% L. This ain't my first rodeo. I know I'm here to get flamed but god damn. My perfect year is in shambles. I can't trade the same strategy after that ding. I lost PDT. I ALWAYS SET A STOP OR BUY. I DONT KNOW WHY IN THE FUC ..read more

Not many people live stream daily. Much less for years. While I moved on from the small cap low float space, it's inspiring to see this man stick to one thing and grind it out. To see this man's progression over the years is something. He was one of the people that let me know this shit is possible. Props submitted by /u/mmxmlee [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Right now I trade futures through Prop Firms because, and man I am so bored after being done for the day. ? Like my routine is pray, meditate, trade, gym, read, then boredom. I even started a YouTube channel and done a couple other things, but still have so much time in the day.? I know I could be charting, but that still doesn’t take long for me. What do you guys do? And what do you think I should explore? submitted by /u/Dismal-Victory3307 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

What’s the point of Day Trading?

I see a lot of people on this subreddit parrot the idea that you can’t make any money doing this. Everyone says “you can’t make this your day job” or “you can’t consistently make money doing this” or something like that. There is also this idea I keep seeing in many threads that there is no long term winning strategy. Any time someone suggests that they have a trading strategy that works they are immediately shut down. So my question as a novice just exploring this world is what is the point of day trading? If you can’t make money doing it and you certainly can’t build wealth doing it (i.e. c ..read more
