PhotoPlus Magazine Interview

This week I was able to pick up PhotoPlus' latest magazine featuring my 4 spread interview! I've had behind the scenes, photo features and front covers but I believe this is my first interview! Super grateful for all the opportunities that come my way. With my move to Wales, I often found myself feeling a bit lost and disconnected from the photography. Adjusting to a new environment while trying to maintain my creative focus wasn't always easy. It's these wins that keep me motivated and determined to keep going. They remind me that as long as I stay focused and keep pushing forward, the oppor ..read more

This year has particularly been a mixture of exciting highs and heartbreaking lows. When I look back at some of these session, I can't believe they happened less than a year ago. It's been pretty full on for us - a move to South Wales within 6 weeks is just one of the many events! I accepted a huge challenge for my photography when deciding to move. Which initially overwhelmed me with stress from the thought of basically starting again, however, I turned it around and focused on the opportunity of being able to explore new locations and improve my skill. I've positioned myself now where I'm no ..read more

I'm so please to have my first magazine cover this year! You can find Jem on the cover of Dorset Magazine's May issue and Derbyshire Life's June issue. How exciting! A cover photo can often be a big goal for a photographer. Although it doesn't stop here, it would be a dream to get a big national or international magazine cover one day! We can but dream right ..read more

Dalmatian Seaside Session

Visiting the seaside for a session has been on the bucket list for quite some time! Back in late April, I was so excited to finally have the opportunity to cross this off my list. On a glorious sunny spring day we travelled down to Cornwall and visited Fistral beach. I've been to this beach before however, rather than catching some waves, I was going to photograph three beautiful Dalmatians! We met 4 year old Penny and her to adorable puppies, Violet and Dyson. While the dogs had the time of their life on the beach, I snapped away - getting more and more soaked in the wet sand! I wasn't both ..read more

I often feel my most creative when editing. I take a lot of care when it comes to working on my images, which I think is apparent when you see the straight out of camera photos and that's one of the reasons why I like sharing them! Some images require more work than others depending on the light and conditions for the day. Sometimes there are distractions in the background/foreground or the colours need reworking. What ever the photo needs, I'll make sure I spend the time to bring your photos to life! Part of the process is being able to see the potential of an image and where you want to go w ..read more

https://www.facebook.com/HUCKmagazine/videos/297010615762124 I was amazingly asked by Sky Arts if I'd like to take part in their new series 'My Greatest Shot'. I was selected as the pet photographer in their Animals episode! The programme was double billed on Sky Arts every Tuesday at 8pm starting on the 9th November. I was in Episode 2 at 8:30pm. As far as I know, it is still available on Now TV and Sky On Demand. I'm incredibly honoured to be a part of this series amongst very talented and renowned photographers. "Sky Arts is launching its first-ever ad-funded programme, My Greatest Shot, A ..read more

Another one of my babies taken away from me far too soon. A couple weeks ago we lost our silky ball of fire. I miss him more and more each day, I'd do anything to receive one of his welcoming headbutts right now. Noah had a heart murmur and heartbreakingly, we think his little heart took a sudden turn for the worst. The vet doesn't believe that he was in any pain and everything happened so fast. At only 7 years old, I thought we still had years of your daily cuteness. Noah was even more beautiful on the inside than he was on the outside, so gentle and loving. Everything he did was just adorab ..read more

Bluebell Sessions 2021

Having missed out on Bluebell sessions completely last year due to lockdown, as well as having to battle with awful weather the year before that - I was determined to have a magical bluebell season this year! Not only were we blessed with good weather on all our shoots, I also had the best models ever! Bluebell sessions were my first photoshoots back after a couple of lockdowns and a long winter in between. I hadn't completed a full sessions for a long time! I was a little worried and thought that perhaps I'd gotten a bit rusty! However, with the help of some amazing and very well behaved pup ..read more

"My Cat Would Never Pose For A Photo"

".... Unless it wanted to" Now and then, students get in touch with a list of questions. I had one recently that, for the first time, asked explicitly about cat photography. She was thrilled to have come across my website since she hadn't found many other pet photographers who photograph cats too. I believe this is because unless you are very familiar with cats, you probably don't understand them, making it very difficult to photograph them. It's so important to know about the subjects you work with and in my experience, most pet photographers tend to be "dog people." It's the same reason why ..read more
