ShelleyJean and I received our coins and t-shirts for completing the 23 geocaches and 11 adventure lab stops of the Belmont County Bigfoot GeoTour GT4DD! It was a good adventure in October - our second time doing a Belmont County tour - even if the weather was a little trying.
Mansfield Mickey Mouse
Our three-day trip was bookended with several Roadside America-like stops, which lent an air of adventure to our journey. After grabbing a few new Ohio counties (lots of Amish riding bikes up and down the hills), we reached Mansfield and the famous Mickey Mouse! We found him!

Day 7 - Saturday: Heading Home to Detroit
Thank you, all, who followed our Colorado adventures last week! It was an amazing experience, and we are grateful we had the ability to go
DIA has a subway!
Signal ready to head home again
This frog gets around!
Signal and his two companions had quite the Colorado adventure! 2,240 miles in the air, 1,239 miles in the car, averaging over 10,000 steps a day, and earning 4 new state souvenirs!

Day 6 - Friday: Cheyenne and Denver.
After five very full days of sunshine and fresh air, we decided we needed a road trip day. So we packed our bags in Estes Park and left the bugling elk (who bugled all night long) behind for Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Estes Park
Heading out of town we stopped at The Ark, just a few hundred feet from our hotel. What a kooky place!

And, as TaGeez was signing the log, guess who ambled out of the nearby bushes, announcing himself?!? Wow, are they loud! They sound like pressure steam coming out of a hot water heater.

Day 5 - Thursday: Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park
Let me state outright that I’m terrified of heights. TERRIFIED! So, of course, we go to one of the highest National Parks in the country. I believe we calculated I made it up to 9,475 feet on Thursday!
How can you go to Colorado and not visit one of the National Parks?
We planned this visit to Rocky Mountain National Park for later in our trip so we could be acclimated to the altitude to avoid altitude sickness. Unfortunately, by the time we decided to go, it was too late to get timed passes for the RMNP Bear Lake Corridor, the ..read more

Day 4 - Wednesday: Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and Boulder
It's Wednesday morning and time to leave Colorado Springs. Let's take one last look at our morning view.
Pike's Peak
What was awesome about this trip was flexibility. We didn’t go strictly to schedule. We decided last night to go to the zoo today, and this was one of the best parts of the trip! I’ve been to zoos from Toronto to San Diego, and this little non-profit on the side of a mountain is one of my favorites!

Day 3 - Tuesday: Canon City and Royal Gorge
How can you not stare at the view? The Rocky Mountains and Pike's Peak are visible from our hotel room bed! Someone asked, "How can you go to Colorado Springs and not climb Pike's Peak?" Easy. Watch me. Big fear of heights here, and I can easily see the peak from down here!
It was pointed out that we visited Colorado during the best weather of the year. It was truly gorgeous, and this day this was the only inclement weather the entire week. Luckily, the Royal Gorge Route Railroad let us bump our reservations up to avoid the bulk of the incoming s ..read more

Day 2 - Monday: Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs
Our first full day in Colorado, and we woke to perfect weather in a hotel with a beautiful view of Pike’s Peak and the Rockies! Yes! Driving into town really late the night before, and we missed the entire Rocky Mountain Range! This was the view from our hotel room ?
