Reflections of time.... Reflecting on it all…. Had you asked me in early 2017 what I would be doing 2 years down the track I would have shrugged. This photo here was where I fell in love with photography and is where my journey first started. It is not perfect, but rarely a photograph ever is. The most technically perfect photograph can still have a complete absence of emotion. And emotion is what makes us tick. I remember this photograph like it was yesterday: the first photo I took on my first DSLR and the first image of my own capturing Sapphire, setting me off into the photographic wild bl ..read more

Echoes of time..... Carrying on from where we left off in Part 1 I managed to squeeze in whatever time I could where I could and produced some interesting pieces in this time. Looking at them now they feel chaotic to me and disorganized. A direct reflection of my life and the roller coaster I was on. My development as an artist has become extremely important to me, and because of this, I made the decision to enter a Mentorship programme with Creative Compass in February 2019. These two ladies have proved instrumental to date into my vision and understanding of what opportunities are available ..read more

Water under the bridge. There has been a lot of that since my last blog post. A year feels like an eon ago, and also at the same time as if I blinked and missed it. It is something that my mind constantly grapples with and never really comes to terms with. Time is a force greater than all of us and it slips through our fingers whether we like it or not. It leaves the mind furiously trying to catch up and comprehend its passing. Anyone who knows me understands the tribulations the past year has bought to the table, but through it all, I have continued to develop and grow (I think). With the pas ..read more

She grinned to herself... this was me ... the moment this theme was posted. I do love me a good story- especially when I can attach one of my fantastical images to it. A few weeks back I caught up with a friend who had not long had her little Ragdoll kitten. Dubbed Tiffany Blue, I just knew she was destined for greatness....... "Musings of her furry Meowness" Meowdays things were pretty sweet for a young gal who's just moved out of home and learning about the big wide world. Tiffany Blue had well and truly landed on her feet, Her floofy clould like little body had made itself right at home at ..read more

Well, after the madness that was yesterday weather wise, Nelson has woken up to some sunshine, shes still looking pretty rough around the edges in some parts, and for some, there have been some life changing events. You have to take your hat off to Mother Nature, truly something to behold when angry. The force and destruction of her wraith is something to be respected and feared. So yet again I find myself writing another blog on the day it is due. At least this time though I already have the piece prepared which I'm using. (Score one for me!) Depth of field is basically the distance between t ..read more

Are you AWAKE?

This week is a bit of a departure from the normal blog. Over time this will perhaps be something that will become more commonplace. Change is a good thing right? Late December I enrolled in an Artistry Course to see where it would take me. This also gave me the opportunity to further enroll in another another course called AWAKE 2018. And immediately- EVERYTHING changed. I have days where I sit and pinch myself after looking at something I have created and I'm only 2 weeks into it! In the past I have definitely favoured animals over people, however being surrounded by such amazing artists in t ..read more

We're back again this week. Last week I somehow managed to miss the cut off for submitting my blog (Oops!) This weeks theme is something I used to be guilty of every time I picked up the camera. Trying to squish as much as I can right to the very edges of the image. Whilst that in itself is not a bad thing- it can prove difficult when it comes to printing. One thing I do enjoy photographing , particularly on my own dog is close ups of details. Paws, eyes, ears, fur and so on and so forth. These are the little nuances that are often overlooked and in time will come to be a reminder of just how ..read more
