Day Trader Wayne

It was somewhat fitting that this trading week ended on Friday the 13th. I’m usually a little sad when 4pm hits on Friday and the trading week is over. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE weekends, but I also LOVE trading THAT much. This week was different. This week was exhausting. This week was stressful. And not because some #NGTMI called me a child and a dick in chat. That was some much-needed comic relief. Note: I wrote the above on Friday night. This past week was historic for many reasons. What stands out the most for me were the TWO limit down Level1 halts and even one limit up if you care abo ..read more

Trading PC Build

First of all, I’m an Apple ($AAPL) guy. Not quite a fanboy, but pretty damn close. My entire house is littered with products from the fruit. And while I consider myself tech-savvy for my age, up until the build I considered myself PC illiterate. Early in my trading career, I was even trading on a Mac. Then in 2013, E*Trade suddenly start having issues. It was something about all the JAVA updates or some crap totally beyond my computer and programming knowledge. The issues were impacting Mac users significantly more than PC users. I was ready to bail on E*Trade but since they had one of the fe ..read more

Well, it’s that time of year again.  Even though it’s technically just another day like any other, January 1st always seems like a fresh start.  The day to forget the past and once again begin anew.  2019 is in the past and 2020 is going to be THE year.  I know many traders out there thinking and feeling along these lines.  If this sounds like you and/or you’re just a struggling trader, I hope you take the advice offered in this blog into account when making your plans for the New Year.  I certainly wish someone would have expla ..read more

Just be kind.

As most of you know, I’ve been trading with Mike and his chat room since 2010. That’s a REALLY long time if you think about it. At this point, I consider Mike and most of the longer-term members family. Sure, some of the members are like crazy Uncle Bob or mean Aunt Ruth who you pray don’t show up for the Holidays, but they’re still family. And there’s even a few Cousin Ethans who you’ve cut off all ties to and refuse to have ANY relationship with. But sans a few Aunts, Uncles and crazy Cousins, most other members are like the friends and family you wished you had. On Tuesday this week, we le ..read more

To Level2 or NOT to Level2?
Day Trader Wayne
by DayTraderWayne

First, let’s get a definition out the way: Whenever, I use the term “Level2”, I’m INCLUDING time and sales. It’s just easier to say and type “Level2” than it is “Level2 and time and sales”. And I always capitalize it as I think that’s the kind of respect it deserves. Also, this is a blog about DAY TRADING, not holding longer term(s) and/or investing. About once a month I get into what I refer to as “the Level2 debate” with someone. Sometimes it’s with a Level2 skeptic. Sometimes it’s with a newbie who has legitimate and great questions about the tool. Sometimes it’s with a Know-It-All. And yo ..read more

What's YOUR plan?
Day Trader Wayne
by DayTraderWayne

If you're a struggling trader or a trader who just isn't happy with your overall performance, what are you doing about it? Seriously, what's your plan? Simply saying, wishing, hoping, thinking and maybe even praying that somehow tomorrow will be different probably isn't going to work. What you’re about to read is from a GTMI. For those that don’t know, a "GTMI" is what we affectionately call a trader who we feel is Going To Make It. A trader who is well on his/her way to becoming and staying consistently profitable. Our GTMIs all have a lot in common. They work hard on their process. They’re ..read more

Day Trading on a Beach!
Day Trader Wayne
by DayTraderWayne

I’m back from my little experiment! Well, technically I’ve been back for 2 weeks but who’s really counting? I spent some time Trading from the beach! This seems to be a thing people want to do so I thought I’d give it a try. After all, everyone on twitter makes it look so easy. If they can do it, surely, I can too! Mike and I agreed that maybe it would even help our marketing. We’d surely sell more courses if we had some photos of tropical places where it’s always sunny and always easy to trade, right? I was happy to give it a try… How did it go? Fantastic! Epic! Way better than I thought. M ..read more

If you didn't meet the first John, give this a read later. Today, we're going to meet another John. His name is John2 KnowItAll. Buckle in readers, it’s going to be a LONG blog… PLEASE take your time and get through the story because the lesson about Day Trading is at the end. I need the story to set it up. And for those GTMIs and/or potential GTMIs out there, you may really enjoy this one. Or hate it. I can see both sides. So, it finally happened. The dreaded day we knew just had to come finally arrived. We knew AT SOME POINT it just had to happen. Merely the law of numbers and basic statist ..read more

BEHOLD the 2nd Mouse.

Ever been stopped out of a trade just to see it run without you a short time later? I HAVE! If you’re an active and defensive trader, you probably see this from time to time. In some choppy markets like we've seen lately, you may see it frequently. For many, it’s difficult to jump back into a trade a 2nd time after they took a loss on the stock. Just like the old saying goes it's hard to jump back on that horse quickly after you just got thrown off. Today I’m going to talk to you about why I think you SHOULD jump right back on. While we’re talking today please remember one other thing I stron ..read more

Bring it!

Before we get started, a BIG THANK YOU to all of the GTMIs who showed up and spent ~5 hours of their Saturday with us yesterday. We really appreciated your interaction and questions. For those who couldn’t attend live, the recording is already up on our site. Just remember, you have to login to see the course materials. On to today’s topic: Last weekend we were supposed to get hammered with snow. Several days before the storm, all the weather gurus were predicting 15”-18” of snow with ½”- ¾” of ice to follow. One of the models even had the totals significantly higher. It was non-stop wall-to ..read more
