Meet the Taylor family on the blog this week! The Taylors became good friends last year when their little boy, Oliver, and Liam became buddies while playing T-ball together. I was so happy to get to photograph them with their sweet pup Henry. Henry is an English Springer Spaniel and was about seven months old when these pictures were taken. Henry got his name after a king of England. The Taylor family decided they wanted an English name for their new pup because Rob is English. Also, their last pup was an English springer spaniel named Louis, after King Louis, so we kept with the tradition of ..read more

Meet Jen and Vanessa with their pet crew on the blog today! This fun winter session was taken at their beautiful home in Thompson’s Station. Jen and Vanessa have three dogs (all golden retrievers) and one cat who is possibly part ragdoll, and is a rescue from the humane society in Fort Lauderdale. The three sweet pups are named Beaux, Rye, and Hank. Beaux is 12 years old and got his name as a play on LSU’s mascot, the tiger, which people often say “Geaux (Go) Tigers”. Side note, Vanessa played softball at LSU and is a HUGE LSU sports fan…so it’s fitting! Rye is two years old and is named after ..read more

I just want to say that I am so grateful to be part of such a great community of animal lovers. Not only do I get to photograph pets and their people, I have had the opportunities to give back by doing photography for local pet charities, including events for the Pet Community Center and Agape Animal Rescue. I really love being able to support the local pet charity community through my work! On the blog today, I get to share an event I did in October called Cause for Paws which benefits the Nashville Humane Association (NHA) at the Belle Meade Country Club. (You can check all the photos here o ..read more

Boo! Happy Halloween everyone! I have some perfect photos to share for this occasion since Allison decided to do a session with Halloween costumes! How fun and adorable are these minions?! Meet Allison and Maude, her 10-year-old English Sheepdog. Why Maude? Well, Allison just loves older generation human names for dogs. Maude may look big and tough, but she really is just a sweetie. The best part about her is her goofy personality, and that she tolerates Allison dressing her up for the holidays. Maude loves her treats, playing tug and going on car rides. The photos here are from two different ..read more

September is almost over, and back-to-school is in full swing. I thought it might be a good time to share some photos from an event I did at Waggy Tails Pet Center. Waggy Tails provides doggie daycare, boarding and dog training. They even offer bath and spa options while the pups are in their care. What makes their place so different from other dog care centers: “It’s quite simple actually – We love on your fur babies just as much as you do! That’s a bold statement and we don’t take it lightly. They give us unconditional love and we do our best to return that to them!” Be aware that if you are ..read more

I’m so happy to share, for the second time, the Hartmann family! They have been on the blog before, about three years ago. Sadly, the sweet corgis they had at that time have passed on, and they have now added two sweet new pups to their pack. You can take a look at that session here: The Hartmann Family.  We took these photos at Shelby and Thomas’ beautiful home in Franklin. Introducing a one-and-a-half-year-old Welsh corgi named Eddy Merckx, and a five-year-old dachshund named Asher. When I asked the couple about their dogs’ names, they told me Asher already had his name, but they loved ..read more

I am so excited to share photos from TWO sessions with the Copeland couple and their pup! The first session was in November of last year at Marcella Vivrette Smith Park. The second session was just last week at Percy Warner Park. We went to the beautiful stone steps there, also known as the Majestic Allée Steps. Meet Caitlin, Jason and Cash. At the first session, Cash was just a 14 month old Frenchie pup! (Though in human years, he was considered a teenager!). Cash was named after none other than Johnny Cash because of his legacy in Nashville, and Nashville is where Caitlin and Jason fell in l ..read more

Here is the second half of the Harris family blog!  If you didn’t see part one, please click here: The Harris Family Part One I am thrilled for part two, because it includes all the horses.  I grew up with horses, so taking these photos was nostalgic for me.  I felt right at home! Sherri and Jeff Harris live on a 40-acre farm.  They are at capacity for animals with five horses, four dogs, a fish and two feral cats. Though at capacity, they still foster occasionally.  They rescue whenever they can and are bona fide animal lovers. They even feed the neighbor's cat as if ..read more

I am very excited for today’s blog AND it’s a two parter!  This is seriously one of my favorite shoots to date, and I remember it well!  I was 8 months pregnant at the time, and drove a few hours to this lovely couple’s farm in Maceo, Kentucky.  They not only had dogs for me to photograph, but they also horses and beta fish.  I grew up with horses and felt right at home with theirs.   Once Sherri and Jeff were married, they knew they wanted to buy a small farm and build a farmhouse.  They have 40 acres in Kentucky and call themselves “gentlemen farmers” (so fun ..read more
