How long does it usually take for your case to be closed after discharge? I’m currently at 72 days at the awaiting closing. Maybe a simple question that can be answered, maybe not. I filed back in February (Chapter 7) and had my 341 on March 25th. 341 went well, the trustee said she’s going to file a no asset report and wished me well. I haven’t got my discharge letter yet, I’m a mechanic by trade and have run out of storage in my box and need to buy a bigger one. We are in the process of filing chapter 13 soon. Still have to pay the lawyer but we’ve met with them. I’m graduating nursing school in a few weeks so I am bummed about not being able to enjoy my new salary for 5 years. But school is part of the reason I’m in this mess. We are keeping our cars and home payment on our own. But since I have the more stable income (my husband is seasonal) the deduction will be coming out of my pay. I have roughly $65-$70k in debt between CC’s and my vehicle.. If I were to file bankruptcy, would I be able to keep my vehicle? Or would I lose that for including it in bankruptcy?
