A Borders gin distillery has had four of its gins recognised in this year’s London Spirits Competition. 1881 Distillery, which is based at Peebles Hydro, received gold for its subtly smoked Rafters Gin. The gin is inspired by the hotel’s history and a fire it suffered in 1905. The Scottish gin brand also received silver for three gins, Hydro, Honours and Tiffin.
