The Wizard of Alderley Edge
Fancy adding a little legend to your gin collection? Then The Edge gin might just be the one for you!
Hailing from Alderley Edge in Cheshire, the Edge gin is inspired by the legendary wizard of Alderly. Legend has it that of a band of warriors lie sleeping in a chamber below ground, ready to awake in a time of crisis to save their country. The location is marked by The Wizard Well, which is carved with a magical inscription –
‘Drink of this and take thy fill for the water falls by the Wizhard’s will’

Okay, so we all know garnish is important.. it adds to the drink, enhancing the flavour and your drinking experience.
We also know that fresh is best. Hands down, fresh beats dehydrated anytime in my opinion, but this is when the dilemma arises for some home drinkers – keeping your garnish fresh. Cut up an orange or a lemon for a quick Monday night G&T and within a couple of days it’s bad.
I agree you could cut the rest up and freeze to make fruit shaped ice cubes but for some of us convenience is paramount.
This is where Fruits for Drinks comes in…Their freeze dried fruits can be kept 9 m ..read more

Let me preface this with my excuses
I am going through what is probably a mid-life crisis, where giving up my steady job as an Executive for a global technology company, and ‘getting into Gin’ seems like a good idea. Brazil, being quite a few years behind the UK in the Gin Market, still has 3 or maybe 4 years of growth in this sector, and there is still space for newcomers in the Craft Gin business, which is what I intend to do. It is relatively easy to do in terms of not needing massive capital investment, and one could get set up, and producing a premium Gin here within the space of about si ..read more

Rekindling fond memories
I backpacked around South East Asia almost a lifetime ago in 1992. It’s a truly special area of the world, especially for foodies; and drinkies of course.
Many times, I have tried to rekindle my senses with evenings of Asian food and incense – playing chilled eastern vibes. However, Tarsier Spirit’s South-East Asian Dry Gin had a profound effect. It roused my sensory memory in a way that provoked such curiosity of how it is a gin that took me back and not my previous endeavours with music, incense and a wok.

In October of this year, Pernod Ricard quietly acquired a stake in Brazilian Gin Distiller ‘Amazzoni’. This amounted to a ‘double-digit’ stake in the Brazilian company, according to representatives of Pernod Ricard. For those not familiar with Pernod Ricard, they one of the three largest drinks producers globally, and owner of Beefeater Gin, Absolut Vodka, Chivas Regal and other well know drinks.

I have always loved Gin
I grew up in the South of England in a time when Aunt Ethel and Dot Cotton sipped their G&T from wine glasses in the Queen Vic, and Gordon’s and Beefeater were the only brands that people really knew. At home, my brothers and I would pick sloes from the hedgerows for our parents to make the yearly Sloe Gin, that we helped ‘prick the sloes’ for and bottle. As a teenager taking part in a student exchange program in Jerez, in the South of Spain, I was introduced to Cubalibres, with Larios Gin & Coke, and there was no turning back for me.
I plan to be writing a ser ..read more

Camden Gin History
With names like juniper crescent, gin ally and Gilbey’s yard, it’s no wonder that Camden played a massive part in gin history. Most visitors don’t realise that back in the mid 19th century, Camden lock was at the heart of London’s gin Distilling and warehousing scene with its footprint stretching 20 acres from the Lock to the Roundhouse.
These days Camden is better known for its diverse community. Creative sellers, street food traders and independent stores line the streets. Half Hitch gin however, are bringing gin Distilling back to the heart of Camden.

As some may already know, last year we traveled around the world visiting different distilleries. In total, we visited 10 distillers across 3 countries. Each distillery we visited was amazing, but there was one that stood out above the rest… and guess what?! You can now get it in the UK!
Cape Byron Distillery
Situated on the East coast of Australia, Cape Byron Distillery sits in a vast area of regenerated rainforest. It all started back in 1988 when the Brook family bought a run-down dairy farm in the hinterland of Byron Bay. Over the years they have planted over 35,000 subtropical rainforest ..read more
