With a full field of 95 locals and a sprinkling of out of town players, the 2019 Course Championships was greeted with fantastic weather, following a big storm that left the course a little wet but in otherwise great condition for the 3-round, two-day tournament. The first round saw a hot start by veteran Open player David Devine who topped the field with a 14 under and set the pace for the 25-person MPO field. This year’s Spring Fling filled up quickly with a full field of 95 players split between 8 divisions, with the largest being the Intermediate field (34 players) followed by Advanced (26 players).  Thanks to generous donations by our disc sponsors (Innova, Discraft, Dynamic Discs, Legacy, & Gateway), all divisions had well over 100% payback.  Faced with persistent heavy rains throughout the first round, competitors played through challenging conditions for what should have been the easier layout of the two rounds.  A few were able to play well through the rain, with Shane Dehner leading the ..read more
