When I count all the things that delight me yearly-and believe me I have whittled down the list- The High Fashion Tea features prominently. It is my kind of event; chic and aspirational . Attracting fashion lovers from across the city for a one of a kind of opportunity. For the event, I wore something special; a skirt I have had for the last 7 years. The same skirt I wore to my last born Ely’s first birthday ever. I also wore a Lady Dior bag and Gucci shoes. This year’s iteration brought all the funk, and featured fashion icons from all spheres of Kenya’s social scene. No one is ever too dress ..read more

Come with me to the Tribal Chic 2023

Other than Christmas and New Years, the Tribal Chic remains one of my favourite Kenyan events all year; attracting a litany of fashion lovers, designers, models, and dreamers in a generous serving of fashion that gets better every year. This year, the event did not break tradition and neither did I. I had the distinguished pleasure of attending the event alongside Real House of Nairobi Cast Member Susan Kaittany as well as a coterie of friends in the fashion circle that I have met over the years. This year’s iteration celebrated the Tribal Chic 12th Anniversary and was themed around sustainabl ..read more

I’m sure if you keep tabs with me. You know I made a huge announcement last Friday.  Something very dear to me finally came true and I couldn’t wait to share it with you. Last year, I launched the very first of its kind in Kenya Luxury line. I would say Africa but for the risk of pushing it, I will be modest and a little less high-falutin. The very first collection was a special brand of tee-shirts loaded with beautiful nuances from the African wild. There was the Salmon Warrior, Love Africa, the Risque business, The Mighty lion, Dancing Lion, Fearless Windows and Sauve winds. It was the first ..read more

Hi Loves, It’s that time of the year again. The Cherubs are happy and love is in the air. I know we are like a couple of days late on the post-but who is asking? Love is an everyday feelin’. Innit? The past few years, I have been out of town on Valentine’s Day. Floating from one castle on the hill to the next. Running from one lighthouse to the next. Sunning myself like a manatee and finally returning home to while the year away with the memories. This year however I will be home. And for a good reason. The past couple of months, I have been working on something totally dear to me and that whi ..read more

The Sun Africa Hotels; a Kenyan Gem

When you walk into the Sun Africa Hotel- and you should- it is like walking into a fairlytale. A lush wonderland of food, ambience, drinks and the very best hospitality has to offer. At least that was my experience at their Austen Place in Nairobi. I’m lucky to have been to a dozen places, vouched by travellers and enthusiasts as the creme de la creme of hospitality, but seated at the Sun Africa, writing over lunch I felt like someone who just discovered their arms. You know that feeling? When you suddenly start seeing something that has been there for so long, something so ethereal, hidden a ..read more
