Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch is ready to REJECT a transfer away from Anfield this summer according to reports, having been linked with a shock switch just one year after joining.  The Dutchman signed for the Reds from Bayern Munich late in the summer transfer window for a fee reported to be in the region of €40 million.  The 21-year-old’s career had stalled in Bavaria, and he was deemed surplus to requirements following a tough debut season having just signed from Ajax. Ruben Amorim was at one stage the firm favourite to take over from Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool manager.  The 39-year-old Sporting CP boss is on the cusp of winning his second Liga Portugal title, with his side requiring only two more wins from their remaining four fixtures to seal top spot.  They could even wrap up the title this weekend away at the Estadio do Dragao, home to bitter rivals Porto. Amorim has been inundated with questions from the media in recent weeks surrounding his future, all of which he has attempted to defer to the end of the season.  Remarkable Ruben Amorim ..read more

Chelsea suffered a severe drubbing at the hands of Liverpool’s Premier League title rivals Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night.  Two goals each from Kai Havertz and Ben White, and another from Leandro Trossard, ensured Mikel Arteta’s side a 5-0 victory, amply improving their goal difference advantage over Manchester City and the Reds, who play Everton in the Merseyside Derby tonight.  However, one incident early in the first half sparked a reaction from Liverpool fans, when Nicolas Jackson committed an appalling foul on the Arsenal full back Takehiro Tomiyasu inside 10 m ..read more

Liverpool’s hunt for a new manager to replace Jurgen Klopp goes on. With No.1 candidate Xabi Alonso opting to remain with Bayer Leverkusen, the Reds’ hierarchy turned elsewhere.  This week, another reported managerial target, Ruben Amorim, flew to London in order to hold talks with West Ham over becoming their new boss with David Moyes now overwhelmingly likely to depart this summer. His arrival on Merseyside looks more remote by the day.  That led up to yesterday’s stories regarding Arne Slot. Trent Alexander-Arnold has recently returned to the Liverpool first team following a knee ligament injury, scoring a stunning free kick in the weekend’s Premier League win against Fulham at Craven Cottage.  It was the 25-year-old’s 100th goal contribution for Liverpool, an incredible landmark for any player but even more so for a right back. But Trent is no ordinary defender, marauding forward to provide crosses, goals and assists throughout his Anfield career and establishing himself as one of the most effective in the world in his position. Nuri Sahin, the former Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund midfielder, shone under Jurgen Klopp as a player and is now making a big impact as a coach at Signal Iduna Park. Having enrolled in Dortmund's academy at seven years of age, Sahin went from ballboy to midfield metronome, playing a crucial role in Klopp's Bundesliga-conquering side and eventually lining up (albeit only briefly) for Real Madrid and Liverpool.   Since retiring in October 2021, the German-born ex-Turkey international has been engaged in professional coaching, doing an admirable job as head coach and sporting director ..read more
