How do people deal with the stress of tinnitus. I haven't been able to get seen by a doctor and the waiting list is so long to be seen. I feel suicidal on bad days and it drives me to tears. Does anyone have any stories of hope to help me through?

Stories of people learning to lead content lives with it I mean. I know there's a possibility of it being curable depending on the cause. But I'm too scared to hope for that incase it's for life. Edit: I've had it since August last year now. submitted by /u/strawberry_66 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Can Zoloft worsen my tinnitus?

Hi. I realized I have tinnitus at the beginning of the year. I remember having symptoms since November, but I wasn't aware it's in my ear yet back then. For me it's a quiet fridge compressor-like sound during the day, but that's harmless. The worst part is the ringing during the night, when everything around goes quiet and that sound gets really exposed. It kept me panicking and sleepless at the beginning. You know, that realization that it's in my ear and there's just no way to make it quiet. With every other noise in your life so far you just moved somewhere else, covered your ears or used ..read more

I’m almost on month 4 and it went from a 7/10 to a 2/10. I have ear clicking when I swallow, I developed a weird manual swallowing obsession recently and most interesting I got a cold this week. The cold instead of worsening my tinnitus messed up the pressure in my ears which has never happened before and the mucus is in my ears making them feel full but the tinnitus is actually gone for long sequences unless I really plug my ears hard. How can a cold lessen the noise because I thought now that I’ve had it 4 months there was no cause and I just had to habituate? Anyone with any insight or que ..read more

Woke up this morning around 6:30am, half an hour later I get this big spike in my right ear, plus a slight numbing sensation and diminished hearing. Tinnitus is hard enough to deal with let alone getting new spikes. I’m feeling anxious but I hope it fades away as other times in the past have. The worst past is that I’ve been feeling ok about tinnitus up until this point…. So annoying! submitted by /u/PCT2022 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Right off the bat, I'm calling an appointment to get my ears checked tomorrow, I just want to share my new symptoms if anyone has had similar experiences. So, my tinnitus got worse from loud noise exposure almost two weeks back (night club). I had my earplugs with me but didn't put them on right away so of course that was enough to do the damage :') Anyhow, I noticed today a sensation that almost felt like fluid in my ear canal, and whenever I was exposed to any sort of sound, it felt like it moved and vibrated in my ear canal. And right now I'm having a mild-moderate stinging pain in both ea ..read more

From ear infection?

Hi I think my tinnitus was caused by an ear infection. I didn't get any antibiotics for it until weeks or months later, I never had pain until after I had wax cleaned from my ear then it got infected again or the infection was revealed/visible (?). Do you think if I had gotten antibiotics earlier or ear spray or something I could have prevented getting tinnitus for the rest of my life? submitted by /u/StrategyBrilliant227 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Please share your stories of how tinnitus has affected your life. I hope researchers see this, and I am going to try and get this post across to someone who can make awareness posts on social media platforms. For me, right before I got severe tinnitus, I was finally happy in life, and although I was broke and alone for the most part, I felt great. I was pursuing music and I was finally starting to hit some milestones, I felt unstoppable. My music started getting 10k plays on tracks, I got posts to promote the music up over 2million I was also in college at the moment, so I was spending all my ..read more

For the past decade, I have tinnitus in my left ear triggered by seemingly random things. It never happens in my right ear. It feels like a buzzing and pulsing noise. A few examples are: Sometimes my armpits are sensitive to certain deodorants. With the wrong one, the area can get itchy and irritated. When this happens l, I feel the pulsing/static in my left ear If I have a code reflux or gastrointestinal sensitivity, sometimes it will trigger the same thing Sometimes random aches and pains in the body trigger it and when the ache goes away, so does the tinnitus Has anyone ever had this? I'm 15 and when it goes quiet I hear a very high pitched constant ring, I need to listen to it to hear it loudly if they makes sense. It's always worse when I'm worried about it. I was told my the doctor I have perfect harkng and it's probably the normal amount of ringing. Is this true? Does everyone hear a slight ringing in silence? submitted by /u/Cautious-Reserve1798 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
