High Protein Diets and Creatine Bad For Your Kidneys?

I’ve seen multiple articles online stating that eating 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight for extended periods can cause kidney and liver damage. I try to eat this amount daily give or take. I know creatine is work for your kidneys on its own. So reading all that left me a little concerned given I supplement both. Are these articles bs? I’d rather not lower my protein because that would cut a lot of calories out of my diet. submitted by /u/odogislit [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Should I lower all the weights in my workout and restart to build up from there?

I’m 16M 5’9, been weight for 2 years. I didn’t get the best results but got from 120lbs at 5’7 to 165lbs at 5’9. So in the last year, I’ve been messing things up and doing stupid things like “dirty bulking” while not eating much protein, so it was just an excuse to eat whatever I want. But now, after I fasted Ramadan and lost around 10 lbs in fat and muscle (was 175 before Ramadan) I’ve been also screwing things up because of my holiday and we’re visiting friends and family. So my diet wasn’t the best, it was fluctuating between real bad surplus when eating out and low calorie/protein intake ..read more

Feel like I am hitting a wall.. Advice welcome

So I have been training now for about a year. My main goal when I started was to build my chest, as naturally it is a weak point for me. I saw some good progress in the beginning in all areas and then I have sort of plateaued for the last six months. I was eating an egregious amount and started to notice I was getting a gut. So I started to cut about a month and a half ago and have lost six pounds. But I still don't look the way I want to look. Now I am eating around 2200 calories a day, losing about a pound a week, but I am not seeing the sort of results I want to see. I don't know if it is ..read more

Do half rep push ups help?
Reddit | Natural BodyBuilding Discussion

So I can do a good few half rep push ups, maybe where my chest is 4-5 inches from the floor. However I really struggle to do the bottom part of the push up and can't really even do one. I was hoping that just doing the half reps for a while will help me build the muscles needed for the full rep. Is this true or not? Does anyone know? submitted by /u/Meercus_ [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Which is better for Triceps strength?

If you had to choose and keep one which would you specialize in and which gets you bigger overall Triceps mass? The Weighted Triceps Dip or the Close grip Benchpress? I know one lift alone doesn't cut it, cable extensions or pushdowns are added in afterwards. submitted by /u/Mamafufu12 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Is a less than 90° squat still effective?
Reddit | Natural BodyBuilding Discussion

I’m not too tall (175cm or 5’9) and I can’t get past 90° in my legs when doing a squat because of the safety racks, I can remove them but don’t know how safe is it to have very low racks to hold the weight if I couldn’t complete the rep. So it is ok to not to go too deep or maybe a bit less than 90° in my squats? Edit: I do pull plates under my feet. Also I get really tired from squats (mostly the hardest exercise I do) and get fatigued fast from them. submitted by /u/IcyCattle6374 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

What are your thoughts about 60° incline press vs seated overhead press? I find my shoulders don't pain and I'm able to push harder and stronger on a 60° degree angle? submitted by /u/randomshitusernamer [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Food prep weights

Hi all, I’ve just started to properly weigh out my foods instead of using the eye (I.e the bag weighs 500g and I’m having half, so I’m having about 250g). But I’ve only just (stupidly) realised that I don’t know whether I should be using cooked or raw weights. For example, I’ve just had 160g (raw) of chicken breast for my lunch. It weighed 110g when it was cooked on my plate. Should I be logging 160 or 110? submitted by /u/13DP____ [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Zone 2 cardio - can’t I do just 30 mins stairmaster?

Seems like zone 2 cardio is the in thing right now. I like getting a sweat on though at 160-170bpm on the stairmaster, can I not just do that? I tried zone 2 but it was so boring and my heart rate barely felt elevated. I do stairmaster 3-4x per week 30 mins submitted by /u/sandude23 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
