We couldn’t believe Chelsea were on Monday Night Football last night – in feels like we’re on there every week. It has in fact been 5 games this season, and curiously we’ve picked up 5 wins in those games, as the Chelsea official Twitter account proudly pointed out after the game. Fulham, Palace, Spurs, Newcastle and last night Everton have all been dispatched on a weeknight by Mauricio Pochettino’s Blues. If we’re not mistakes, all 5 of those games have been Premier League matches. Meaning that of our 31 games played, 5 have been Monday night matches, more than 16%. It’s frustrating for fans ..read more

The latest figures released by Chelsea show the club are compliant with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules. A lot has been made of the financial situation at the Blues since Todd Boehly and Clearlake took over the club in May 2022 and embarked on some heavy spending in the transfer window. Without European football this season Chelsea have had to find different ways of generating revenue and even sold themselves two hotels for £76m which raised a few eyebrows. However, journalist David Ornstein has confirmed that despite all the noise surrounding the club they are actually co ..read more

Mauricio Pochettino was involved in a heated exchange with a journalist after Monday night’s win over Everton at Stamford Bridge. It was a brilliant performance from Chelsea as they ran out 6-0 winners to record their biggest win under the Argentine. It should have been an evening of celebration but a farcical argument between Noni Madueke and Nicolas Jackson over who should take the penalty took the gloss off the night. Clearly furious the 52-year-old addressed the situation after the game and showed leadership and authority when asked about the incident and revealed that Cole Palmer was the ..read more

The 21-year-old is now level with Haaland at the top of the Premier League goalscoring charts with 20 goals having registered back to back hat-tricks at Stamford Bridge. Gusto himself has been a revelation and has excelled in the absence of the injured Reece James in the right b ..read more

Alfie Gilchrist’s goal to make it 6-0 against Everton last night was a truly glorious football moment. His celebration was pure joy, and it did a great job in wiping away some of the unpleasantness of earlier in the match. After the game, Mauricio Pochettino was happy to praise the academy youngster, who he has enjoyed using as a late sub in situations just like this. We’d imagine he wasn’t exactly expecting him to smash in a volley from a tight angle when he called for him off the bench – that’s just a bonus. “He’s an amazing guy in the way that he works, he is always available. The unexpected Chelsea player who made team of the week from defence
Chelsea News
by SuperFrank

There were 3 Chelsea players in the WhoScored team of the week after the Blues battered Everton at home. Cole Palmer was of course in the mix with his four goals, as were midfield monster Conor Gallagher and striker Nicolas Jackson. All of those are rather obvious choices. But there was one outlier too. You could have been forgiven for forgetting left back Marc Cucurella, given the festival of goals going on at the other end of the pitch. But he had a really solid game, and picked up the assist for Jackson’s goal when he dug out a cross from all the way by the corner flag. This kind of games s ..read more

Chelsea ran out 6-0 winners from yesterday’s game in the end, but things could have gone very differently if the Blues hadn’t been the team to open the scoring. Everton striker Beto didn’t connect with Seamus Coleman’s early cross, which should have made it 1-0 to the away team. Right from the start, Chelsea and their fans were twitchy, as Sky Sports co-commentator Alan Smith noted. “The first 10 minutes you could feel the nerves among the Chelsea fans, when they were knocking the ball across the back because they have seen too many mistakes this season.” the Sky pundit pointed out later ..read more
