Proposals for Clients

Just wondered, what does everybody do when quoting for a project like a new server for a client. Currently we do a quote with a few lines for deliverables. Does anybody go and put together a statement of work? How much time/work do you put into the statement of work? MD here is wanting that I design out the project in the scoping stage, so when they accept, its just a case of coping the deliverables into the Project Plan. Thoughts? submitted by /u/No-Distribution-1981 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Performing an automated Google Workspace migration to Microsoft 365

Just looking for a bit of guidance in this scenario. There's a few posts on this subject but this one is slightly different. Client has previously been set up with a Microsoft Tenant with users and licenses configured. This was for access to SharePoint. They have already had their Google Docs migrated. They are now looking to move from GMAIL to M365 for their email. I've been going through the procedure for the migration and it seems straight forward given the limitations and things that can break. There are a list of prerequisites needed to be completed prior to the Automated migration. Thes ..read more

Msp for patch management

Ok so I been thinking this for a while but just need help/guidance from someone already done it. I am thinking of starting my own company which provides patching services only to small to medium companies. This is just starting point and I will add more services down the line. If you have done something like this would you recommend to someone just starting out in MSP? Why and why not? submitted by /u/Appropriate-Put-799 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Support "levels" and how to define them

What are the support levels and how are they defined? Is there a generally accepted industry standard? What sort of skills should a level 1 tech support agent have? For example, if a customer calls and says their office has no internet and their PCs are not showing online in our RMM. I would expect the support tech to: 1) Get the customer to ping some host on the internet using an IP address to eliminate DNS as an issue. The most obvious example would be ping 8.8.8.8 2) If they don't know the default gateway or want to be sure to know how to discover the default gateway by running ipconfig. 3 ..read more

StorageCraft Automation?

I'm recently onboarded to an MSP where their backup solution is StorageCraft. I've asked their process and it's a manual one where they log in client b client to confirm that their offsiting their backups to Wasabi. In my eyes, this shits needs to be automated and I'm leaning to python to develop a script. Just wanted to ask if anyone has a suggestion to avoid this manual process because its a tedious one from what I see. submitted by /u/markiixo [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

NinjaOne RMM integration with ConnectWise Manage (PSA) On-Prem

We are evaluating NinjaOne RMM and utilize ConnectWise Manage for our ticketing system. Our ConnectWise Manage is on-prem and don't currently have any plans on moving to the cloud version. Looking through NinjaOne it appears as though it only supports ConnectWise Manage in the cloud. Can anyone confirm if this is true? It seems odd that it would be restricted to just cloud version. I would have to imaging we are not the only ones still with Manage on-prem, but maybe I am wrong and we need to get with the times. submitted by /u/Tsukraw [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

How can godaddy offer MS 365 email accounts for $2.
Managed Service Providers - Reddit

Is there any way for an MSP to offer MS 365 email only accounts like them? It's not on the product page for MS 365, the lowest is Basic with Office 365 included for $6. Charging a small business $30/month, $360 a year, for 5 seats of Office they will never use seems wild. They already have Office. Can I offer them 1 seat of MS 365 Business Basic and the other seats use Exchange Online Plan 1 all on the same domain? Through something like pax8 or other CSP+ reseller? Is there any way to reach godaddy's price, or is that just their massive size outpricing smaller firms? submitted by /u/Legitim ..read more

Don't worry #MSP, #InsurSec is NOT going to replace you. This is why:

No. Cybersecurity offerings from Cyber Insurance Companies are not going to replace MSPs. Here is the very simple reason why... https://youtu.be/BfoEmSuk17k TL;DW: We don't have insurance coverage for an E&O claim that involves us recommending cyber security controls. Typical cyber insurance clients don't understand and don't have the time to figure it out. Ergo, InsurSec will never threaten your industry in any meaningful way. submitted by /u/Joe_Cyber [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
