Hello there, may i ask for Gym recommendations in Tongzhou/通州. I live near Tongzhou Beiyuan and Guoyuan metro stations. on Line 1. Im looking for a very nice Gym and hopefully one that also offers Taekwondo or some martial arts gyms. I'm also open to a crossfit Gym as well if they are local.
Thank you kindly in advance for any suggestions.

I have just started a job here in Beijing (company to company contract) working with a big educational organization (you can probably guess but I don't want to say specifically which one). My request may sound weird (like maybe I just want to meet young girls), but right now, Beijing is so strict with almost everything. I cannot even visit campuses for walks or to buy souvenirs without actually knowing students who go there. I had a chat with a guard at QingHua University and he basically said that a student would have to personally apply for my visit to the campus through their system as I d ..read more

Hello you beautiful people! ✨你好✨!
I’m an American with a nice Job offer to a Chinese school, to teach English! I’m so excited, and finally I can undertake learning Chinese, and consider immigrating to China on a permanent basis for a better quality of life that I could never have in America…
I just have some questions to prepare me for the costs and norms of daily life, so that I know how to spend or save my money appropriately…
In the suburban provinces of Beijing, what’s the average cost for:
-a Gym Membership?
-Phone service? I also want a new phone; how much should I spend, and what brand ..read more

As the title suggests, I was accepted into the Tsinghua IUP program and have some questions as the enrollment process isn’t very straightforward. I am deciding between Tsinghua and SJTU. I am curious if those who have been in the program in the past really studied 8-10 hours a day? I understand it is intense and rigorous, but that is somewhat subjective so I am curious what the day to day really looks like and if I will have time to eat, sleep a full night, work out, maybe socialize occasionally.
Second off, I have yet to be interviewed for my language skill and am wondering what that process ..read more

This May we (Me and a friend) have a stopover on Daxing int. Airport. We arrive at 5pm and leave the next day at 1pm. Does someone know if you can visit the Great Wall in this time window? Saw the closest place was around a 1:30h drive from the airport.
Is there a part that you can visit till late in the evening?

Planning a trip to Beijing in September, how many days would you recommend to see the ‘highlights’ of Beijing?
From research online between 3 - 5 days seems optimal? Any thoughts welcomed!

Foreigner here and planning to visit Beijing for a few days via the 144hrs non-visa before heading elsewhere. I have a few things to ask as it has been years since I was last there and I forgot a lot of things about the city.
The easiest way to get from the airport and into the city area?
Recommended area to stay in?
Do I have to personally check in with the police after I check into the hotel?
How do I pay with a foreign card and number considering they don’t really take cash there
Recommendation for SIM card. Should I buy at the airport?
What do I use again to get around using public trans ..read more

Hi!
I'm in Beijing for a few days and was wondering where is a cheap area to go out for a few drinks? Ideally somewhere nice.
We went somewhere on arrival and were very surprised at how expensive it was.
Thanks xVolloxx
