Hi!
I bought a tunable low D Kerry Optima several years ago from the company's online store based on an old Irish flute teacher's recommendation. However, I didn't really pay much attention to their website at the time; I just went straight to the product I wanted and ordered it. It's been a great investment, but I feel like it's time to get a new one.
When I went to check out their other low D models, maaaan is their online presence strange. Right now, they have three tunable options: the Busker, Chieftain V5, and Chieftain V5 custom, but there's no substantial comparison of the whistles any ..read more

All about Ireland and just Irish. It'll have Irish dancing, ballet etc. I am feckin crazy. I have to come up with 30 minutes of reels, jigs and so on and make sure they're catchy and fun. Thankfully I have about 10 years worth of stuff I've got in the vault.

Who are the bodhràn makers in the 21st century?
I have done online searches and McNeela comes up a lot followed by whatever Amazon has. The person that made my drums is retiring and, while I do not need a new drum at the moment, it would be nice to see the state of the art.

Probably too late for this year, but thinking of the Willie Clancy Summer School for next year. My son is doing button accordion private lessons (the nearest Comhaltas on Navan Road no longer doing lessons). So it's been suggested it might be good for him to have lessons and get to play in a group environment.
But I'm wondering what he'll get out of it: I can't find anyone talking about the lessons themselves, the only reviews just mention the drinking and craic (I've nothing against drinking and craic, but I reckon as a couple with a 11 year old we won't be sessioning hard).
